A limited-edition black vinyl release of the Grammy-award winning U2 album Achtung Baby, to celebrate its 30th Anniversary. in runouts indicates that the metals have been manufactured somewhere else (here at Specialty Records Corporation) for a pressing by Sonopress.

Number 1 in the US, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and France and top 5 in the UK, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and Austria, the album featured five singles: The Fly, Mysterious Ways, One, Even Better Than The Real Thing and Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses. So, again, the vinyl warming effect is very helpful in managing the sometimes intentionally gritty textures which make this album a unique listen.One of these was The Smiths Complete – a gigantic box which contained eight CDs, 11 vinyl LPs and 25 seven-inch singles – and the other was the ‘über deluxe’ of U2’s 1991 album Achtung Baby.

The book is great with essays by Andrew Mueller, Daniel Lanois, Anton Corbijn, Martin Scholz, Martin Wroe, Brain Eno, and Bill Flanagan. The packaging was very over the top for the U2 set, with magnetic ’tiles’ on the top, hidden drawers, enamel badges, ‘The Fly’ sunglasses, numbered lithograph, copies of the Propaganda magazine and more.
