I haven’t looked at other reviews of the book, as I always like to form my own thoughts first by writing this review, but I imagine this is a rather polarizing book in some sense, primarily because of its length and how grotesque it is. Did he look back to green wool hunting jackets, the applause of retainers, the gouts of blood from the dying boar?All humans feed on violence, on the small exercises of power over another, but few have tasted—as we have—the ultimate power.
