About this deal

The old HotGrips Advanced were controlled purely by the user, so the ability to constantly fine tune them was more valuable. However, the new HotGrips Pro have a thermistor built in, which constantly measures the temperature of the grips to keep them stable. This is really valuable as it means they stay around the same temperature – within their operating range – when riding at 70mph as they do when you’re stopped in traffic. Not only is this more comfortable, but it also avoids the distraction of fiddling to keep them just so. I was impressed at how easily the wires connected to the battery and each other during the installation process (all being good, chunky connectors). The main wire that had to be routed through my bike’s frame and the fairing was coated in plastic for extra durability. HotGrips® Pro offers an additional battery saving mode for lithium batteries, now common on high-performance motorcycles. The ends can be trimmed, if you look on the fitting instructions under D - fitting procedure, it shows the trimlengths. A fter testing eight of the most popular heated grips on the market, it was interesting to see the quality of products across the price range. While it’s true that you get what you pay for, as evidenced by the ABR Best in Test award going to the Oxford Adventure Grips, there are some great grips to be had at affordable prices.

Most waterproof membranes used in motorcycle gloves have microscopic holes that are too small to let water through, but will allow vapour from sweaty hands to pass from the warm environment inside the membrane to the cooler atmosphere outside. Heated grips can warm the moisture that becomes trapped in the glove’s outer, turning it into vapour that can then pass through the pores in the membrane and get to your skin. In Bennetts BikeSocial’s experience it’s only a potential issue for extended rides in particularly bad weather. Still, it’s worth being aware of this possibility. If you have heated grips and suspect your waterproof gloves are failing then you have a choice – warm damp hands or cold dry ones! The nicest grips on the test... HotGrips® Pro proved fast and accurate between settings with great comfort and grip." RiDE Recommended - Heated Grips Product Test Weatherproof design - The intelligent heat controller uses a seal-for-life welded case construction for long-term durability and weather proofing. From start to finish the installation took me around four hours, but this included removing a considerable number of fairings from the KTM, fitting and routing the wires, tidying up the wiring with tie wraps and then refitting the fairing. Are the touring and sports models also compatible with the 2019 model z900? If so, aside from maybe needing to trim the grips is the wiring all also long enough? and able to be hooked up to the ignition, for piece ofmind? January 24, 2019

As with my previous pairs of Oxford heated grips I had no real issues when installing them to my KTM 1290 Super Adventure beyond finding somewhere to feed the cables to make everything look neat. The supplied instructions were sufficient given the simple wiring loom for the grips. There are several makes of heated grips on the market, each with different pros and cons as highlighted in this review . The main concern and first hurdle encountered by all is how complicated they are to fit. What I’ve found from testing the eight grips in this review is that it is not actually that difficult, and on average, if you don’t rush, you can have a pair fitted within 30 minutes.

Further to this they still have the battery-saving mode that sees the grips turn off automatically when the engine isn’t running. This is super-handy for forgetful people like me.The new Oxford HotGrips Pro are very well designed, pretty easy to fit and offer great heat for winter rides or any time you want some warmth in your hands. - BikeSocial Oxford has been selling its heated grips for a long time, and they’re proven extremely popular and effective for many thousands of users, from couriers to adventure riders. Silicone formed grips - increases grip lifespan by up to 200% without compromising comfort or performance. Which model is best for a V strom 650 2017 model? I am looking at either the adventure or touringmodels? May 2, 2018

The throttle side will be a bigger internal diameter than the clutch side to compensate for the throttletube. Hi. Would these grips fit a Yamaha XMax 300? I realise there is a Scooter model, but would prefer the additional heat settings if possible. Cheers. December 4, 2018 Can the original bar ends still be fitted after the hot grips are in place ? MT 092018. May 14, 2018 The ‘minus’ button, unsurprisingly, cycles the power down then off, or press and hold it to turn the grips off immediately. The Sports or the Touring grips will be fine - if you measure the length of your standard grips, and choose whichever grips would require the least trimming. The maximum uncut length and the maximum cut length are shown for eachproduct.Your bike has 1 inch diameter handlebars, so the only Hot grips that will fit are Oxford Cruiser Grips, which are designed specifically forcruisers.

These Premium Adventure Heaterz are designed as a replacement for the handlebar grips already fitted to the motorcycle. They will fit onto most motorcycles that use 7/8" (22mm) Ø handlebars. Each grip has an open end to allow the bar end weight to be refitted without the need to trim the grip. The standard length of the Premium Adventure Heaterz grip is 5.19" (132mm). Should the length need to be shortened, they can be trimmed to a minimum length of 4.80" (122mm) without damaging the heating elements. External grip Ø = 1.35" (34.2mm). These will be fine. The end of the grips may need trimming to fit - the maximum uncut and cut lengths are shown on each item. If you measure the grips that you already have fitted, you may find that the Touring grips are a more suitablelength. There are easy-to-install ring connectors to attach the grips to your bike’s battery terminal and the wires are coated in durable plastic which will help prevent damage from extended use. The labelling on the connectors is confusing. There are three connectors coming from the battery loom, and you attach both grips and the controller to these. All connectors are the same size and colour which means in theory you can plug any end to any other end. Our supplier isn't able to provide us with an exact temperature, however have stated that if used on the maximum setting, which is only advised when the temperature is below 0 Celsius, you will notice a sufficient heat coming from the grips. The instructions are relatively poor; just a single A4 sheet of paper and these do not explain how to actually fit the grips. If I hadn’t previously fitted several sets I wouldn’t know where to start as most of the information is regarding the four different types of controllers that are available even though only one is included. There are also bullet points describing artificial rubber which hardly helps when it comes to fitment. Yes, as long as the bars measure 22mm and have not been changed from standard. They may require trimming tofit.
