About this deal

Use a rag or a small brush and apply to all U-bolts, nuts, etc. on your trailer. A little goes a very long way. We also recommend using gloves as it is very hard to wash off if you get it on your hands! LanoShield is a natural, environmentally friendly product that p rovides long lasting protection and lubrication properties to an endless variety of marine, agricultural, commercial, industrial, aquaculture, aviation, construction and many more uses.

First let’s take a look at why Lanoguard works. It’s produced by us in the UK from a lanolin (wool-grease) base. Lanolin gives our products some unique properties which make them ideal for waterproofing (it’s got to keep the sheep dry after all!) and also allows them to work on already rusted/rusting surfaces without a prepared keyed surface. Only down side so far is it still faintly smells of sheep, but I'm told that does diminish over time. This is often applied to large areas and hence using the spray version works best. Your other option is heating the grease up to make it softer and then wiping it on as if washing the machinery. Please remember to wash off dirt first for best results Bikes https://lnkd.in/eBwuy6Af #boatlife #epropulsion #epropulsion #epropulsionelectricoutboardmotors #epropulsionelectricoutboards #electricoutboard #electricoutboardmotor #marine #marineequipment #epropulsionspirit #epropulsionnavy #ecofriendly #sailing #boating #fishing #electricpropulsion #electricboat #hydrogeneration #sustainability #lanoshield #anticorrosion #antiseize #boatshow We first came across lanolin products for rust and corrosion protection when we were researching new nano coatings at some of the world’s leading marine trade shows to protect the fittings on the boat trailers that we sell. In summary, LanoShield prevents and stops corrosion. This is a simple, 100% natural, (made from purified sheep’s wool grease) and versatile product that can be used on electrical components and anywhere that you want to protect from water and corrosion it comes in various sizes from single trailer 250ml tubs to 192kg drums of grease and 500ml to 1000l IBC’s of the spray version.

Underside of my land Cruiser had just been renovated with rust removal, paint and Upol stonechip so rust coverage was not a problem. Yes, it can be a little messy but every type of water repellent is messy. If you want full coverage, then you have to get into all the nooks and crannies. Water and Moisture Repellent: One of the key advantages of lanolin-based grease is its ability to repel water and moisture. It forms a hydrophobic barrier on the metal surface, preventing water from reaching the metal and causing rust. This is particularly important for vehicles that are regularly exposed to rain, snow, or wet conditions.Be assured this was not an easy decision for us to make, and we've worked hard to keep this as good value as possible for you. As you know, we are dedicated to ensuring we always use the best quality raw materials, all UK sourced and made by our hardworking team in Sussex. Rather than compromise on product quality we have chosen to make a small marginal increase to selling price to make sure you always get the very high quality, industrial grade protection your vehicles deserve. Without the natural properties that lanolin has (bonding to metals and hermetically sealing without the need for a keyed surface) a rust-proofing product starts at a disadvantage. It is typically the case that conventional products cannot be sprayed onto existing rust because they don’t work to push off the rust and seep into the metal below. Without the hermetic seal, it’s also far easier for a coating of any product to easily wash off and not last. Lanoguard products (and products from our sister company Asset Protector) have been used, tried, tested and approved in a vast range of industrial and heavy duty scenarios. One notable example is the use of our products to protect Dublin Airport’s runway de-icer vehicle. Potassium Acetate (the chemical they use in de-icing) is highly corrosive and therefore any vehicles applying it are very prone to corroding and losing their value – causing downtime for the airport operator and a decreased lifespan of the vehicle. We treated their D1 vehicle, as shown in the photo, and continue to be used to protect a whole host of large vehicles and machinery.

I think underseal stinks as a product and actually makes things worse. It should be banned and the company sued. Environmentally Friendly: Lanolin is a natural and biodegradable substance, making lanolin-based greases environmentally friendly compared to some synthetic alternatives. They do not contain harmful chemicals or solvents that can be detrimental to the environment or pose health risks during application or disposal. How does it last long term, I will find out. However, if you believe that you can treat the underside of a vehicle once and expect it to last years, then you're mistaken. I've restored plenty of classics that had been Waxoyl'd and the were rotten due to poor maintenance. Firstly, lanolin has a natural affinity to ferrous (and many non-ferrous) metals. This means that it works its way to the base metal and bonds to it, including that underneath rust! – which is why, unlike many conventional products, Lanoguard can be sprayed onto surface rust with no issues and doesn't require a highly prepped and keyed up surface. The lanolin will be attracted to the metal underneath and slowly push off any existing rust. These days, I nearly always use nitrile "mechanics" gloves when working on cars. Orange colour with diamond pattern grips on palms and fingers. Almost identical to the gloves Edd China invariably uses.)Unlike a lot of other lanolin products we wanted ours to have no petroleum base added (works as a softener) so we use a widely grown seed oil. This means that LanoShield uses 100% renewable resources. LanoShield is a natural, environmentally friendly product that provides long lasting corrosion protection and lubrication properties to an endless variety of marine, agricultural, automotive, commercial, industrial, electrical and many more uses. Overall, using a lanolin-based grease for rust protection provides effective and long-lasting corrosion resistance, water repellency, and self-healing properties. It helps to prolong the lifespan of vehicles and maintain their appearance by preventing rust and corrosion damage to the metal surfaces. I sprayed as much as I could underneath, including all metal, plastics and rubbers, avoiding the tyres and discs / pads. Did my 850 with Lanoguard last April and it is still fine, they recommend once a year application but as the 850 is not an every day car and kept garaged I will be doing every two or maybe even three years. The grease is used to cover the threads of bolts etc. that are exposed to the elements underneath the car, I can imaging the joy of repairing a 15 year old car that has been Lanoguard treated and everything unbolts without breaking or stripping threads.

For larger areas like bulk heads either use our spray or simply a larger brush but as you only need a thin coating spread thinly. Please note that if you prefer a thinner grease i.e. more like a gloss paint consistency LanoShield can be heated up by placing the jar in a microwave for 30 seconds on full power Fishing equipmentWe became a supplier of LanoShield – an environmentally friendly, natural, high performance lanolin lubricant, corrosion Inhibitor and anti-seize grease that doesn’t wash off (requires in excess of 200 bar or 3000 psi) originally to add value to our trailer services but now use it for lots of marine jobs i.e. everything that needs water and rust protection including electrical connectors, axles, nuts and bolts, chain, propellers (stops marine growth) etc. Having grown up on a farm, the founder of Lanoguard, knew the many benefits and potential of Lanolin if enhanced and blended to suit needs, as such we have spent the last many years since, perfecting our products to help to make your life easier and save you money. If I had done this when I originally repainted the axles they would look like new. As it is the Lanoguard appears to have taken the edge of the angry rust that is starting to break through. Unlike a lot of other lanolin products we want ours to have no petroleum base added (works as a softener) so we use a widely grown seed oil. This means that LanoShield uses 100% renewable resources. I'm finding a re-coat after about 6 months is needed to keep the underside looking good. But that is easy enough, just warm the Lanoguard before use and it will spray easily. No serious prep required just power wash any mud off, let it dry and spray. I keep a hand sprayer, the bottle type, to go round an touch up if needed.
