About this deal

Hope you enjoyed my book club discussion questions and reading guide for The Lies I Tell by Julie Clark! I couldn’t put this book down. My eyes hurt. My stomach grumbles after seven hours nonstop wild ride ( don’t ask me how to handle my bladder issues) I loved it, loved it and lovveeeeed it! When Kat expresses doubts about whether Scott will be investigated by his colleagues, it raises questions about the motivations of police departments. Is there an incentive for police departments to investigate their own officers and detectives, or are there reasons why they might want to sweep corruption and violence under the rug? What kind of impact does this have on the community and on the trust between police and civilians? But what if the monster she thinks is just a survivor, giving the justice by punishing real villains who hurt lots of people! What if Meg is not the bad guy of this scenario? Kat Roberts has been waiting ten years for the woman who upended her life to return. And now that she has, Kat is determined to be the one to expose her. But as the two women grow closer, Kat's long-held assumptions begin to crumble, leaving Kat to wonder who Meg's true target is.

Julie Clark has done it again! In her latest riveting domestic thriller, Clark takes you straight into the collision course of two dynamic, complicated women―who will go to any length to fix their past and find their way to a different future. The Lies I Tell is a winner.” —Laura Dave, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Last Thing He Told Me Betrayal and deception are at the heart of Meg and Kat’s friendship. Despite knowing that they shouldn’t trust each other, they continue to work together, relying on their shared experience and their bond. As their friendship grows, they navigate a delicate dance of lies and half-truths, never knowing if the other is telling the truth or not. How do they manage to maintain their friendship under such difficult circumstances? What kind of impact does their situation have on their emotions and their trust in others? Kat knows Meg is lying - about her past, her name, her career, pretty much everything. But she finds herself drawn to the mysterious woman, so she lies about herself too. Fake past, fake name, fake career. She's only lying so that she can expose the truth - a noble cause. But when you're surrounded by lies, who even knows what the truth is anymore?Location: Hotel Krat and Barren Swamp - Talk to Eugenie just before heading to the Barren Swamp and she’ll give you the Four-finger Glove that she made for Alidoro. Upon reaching the Barren Swamp, you’ll circle around the initial area and eventually meet up with Alidoro once more. Upon giving him the gloves, he’ll scoff at their poor quality. Location: Grand Exhibition - A short cutscene will play after you defeat a boss named Champion Victor. Simon Manus, along with his devout zealot, Laxasia, will appear.

Those looking for major twists won’t find that here. What you see is pretty much what you get. However, that doesn’t mean there are zero surprises in store. My thoughts on the characters evolved, and the writing is absolutely phenomenal - swift, fast-paced, and brilliant. When their paths cross 10 years later Kat knows this is the break she’s been hoping for. An exclusive tell all that will expose Meg for who she really is. And the opportunity to redeem herself. Meg is a master at exploiting the weaknesses of her targets, and ego is one of the most powerful tools in her arsenal. By playing on her targets’ insecurities, Meg is able to manipulate them into doing things they wouldn’t normally do. But how do her targets create openings for her in the first place? What kind of behavior makes them vulnerable to Meg’s cons, and how does Meg take advantage of it? I really liked this book. Well written with interesting characters and plots. While there was no WOW moment or huge cliffhangers, it flowed well and was so intriguing that I read it in one day. I liked all the characters and felt like I knew them well. Meg posits, "The difference between justice and revenge comes down to who's telling the story." What does she mean, and do you agree with her?WOW. this story took me by storm. This is my first book from Julie Clark - I have yet to read the last flight - and I’m absolutely blown away. Julie really has a way of engrossing you so completely in the story that’s it’s impossible to look away. I finish this book in one setting, refusing to look away from my kindle for a single second. I stayed up in the wee hours of the morning, dying to know how Meg & Kats story finished. And it did NOT disappoint. I am absolutely crazy about this book! After falling in love with Julie Clark after The Last Flight, I was very excited to hear about The Lies I Tell and to get an advanced copy - Christmas came early! Geppetto (Arche Abbey Upper Part) Geppetto wants to know if he’ll receive any Father of the Year awards. Image: Neowiz Games via Polygon Sophia (Ascension Bridge) By the time you see the real Sophia, you’ll realize that she doesn’t have a lot of time left. Image: Neowiz Games via Polygon Meg, a con woman, travels the country under assumed names, perfecting her craft for years in preparation for the biggest con of all: going after the man who ruined her life.

CONTENT WARNING: There is sexual assault in this book. It’s not descriptive but it’s a driving force of one of the main characters’ life. Kat’s relationship with Scott is heavily influenced by his gambling addiction. What did you want readers to take from this conflict? Holy smokes this book is so flipping good!! Told from Meg & Kat’s point of view and over the course of 10 years, we learn how one went from homeless to conwoman and the other from reporter to a woman out for personal answers. What we end up with is 2 strong women who what justice! I couldn’t get enough of this book!!! The cameo from The Last Flight was icing on the cake!!!This is already one of my favorite ( probably it guaranteed its place at my top 5) thrillers of 2022! I highly truly recommend it! Lies of P requires you to make Lie or Truth choices over the course of your playthrough. These instances might seem innocuous at first, but they’ll become crucial as you progress further in the campaign, going so far as affecting which Lies of P ending that you’ll get, as well as one particular secret item. I hope you and your book club will enjoy my discussion reading guide for The Lies I Tell by Megan Miranda. ✨
