About this deal

Intel processor numbers are not a measure of performance. Processor numbers differentiate features within each processor family, not across different processor families. See http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/processor-numbers.html for details. Wish these would be a good pair with a 4090. The performance is nice compared to last gen. The 13600k looks great at this price point. I noted something similar before here in another article, where the Intel platform used DDR5 in the performance section, and DDR4 in the price section. Raptor Lake consumes more power than Alder Lake, but it is also much faster than its predecessor, earning it some leeway. Nevertheless, as we see in our renders-per-day measurements, AMD still holds the advantage in efficiency and all key power criteria. Intel's system consumes more power, resulting in higher thermal output.

But I'd go one further than that. The inclusion of four more E-cores turns this processor into a 14-core chip with the multithreaded performance to deliver in high-demand applications, and that makes it a great fit for streaming, content creation, editing, and more. The Core i5 13600K is much more of an all-round powerhouse than I had expected it to be.Price higher than equivalent last-gen chip, Power-hungrier than before, Runs hotter than Core i5-12600K Max Turbo Frequency refers to the maximum single-core processor frequency that can be achieved with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology. See www.intel.com/technology/turboboost/ for more information and applicability of this technology. For as long as I can remember, I've had love of all things tech, spurred on, in part, by a love of gaming. I began working on computers owned by immediate family members and relatives when I was around 10 years old. I've always sought to learn as much as possible about anything PC, leading to a well-rounded grasp on all things tech today. In my role at PCMag, I greatly enjoy the opportunity to share what I know. With Ryzen I do. Articles like this pop up fairly often, and I don't like the methodology. I'll go through it.

UserBenchmark: Intel Core i5-13600K BX8071513600K

Realistically, these results suggest what we already know from the specs: The Core i5-13600K and the Core i5-14600K are more or less the same chip in practical terms, even if the specs vary a smidge. Performance versus the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X and AMD Ryzen 5 7600X remained competitive, with the two Core i5 processors far ahead of their rivals in all tests except for Adobe Photoshop, which let the Ryzen 7 7700X have a rare win. Drivers and Software: Intel. Not sure what this is supposed to even mean. I do know I've never seen AMD win or tie in it though so it seems it's there just to get another win. Both are generally just fine with the occasional problem now and then. I'd call it a tie.The Intel Core i5-13600K is (to our mind) 13th-gen Intel’s best gaming CPU. It has the best price-to-performance balance in the whole series, so it’ll ensure great results in any game that you put it against.

Intel Core i5-13600K vs i9-13900K UserBenchmark: Intel Core i5-13600K vs i9-13900K

The MSI MAG Z690 Tomahawk Wi-Fi uses a 16+1+1 configuration, with each 1 stage being for the GPU, the propagation of AUX, and the 16 phases for the CPU. Similar to the ASUS AORUX Z790 ELITE AX, the MSI MAG Z690 Tomahawk also has a 6-layer PCB with 2 ounces of copper, which is enough to put together a high-quality circuit board. You don't have permission to access "http://wcm-stg.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/230493/intel-core-i513600k-processor-24m-cache-up-to-5-10-ghz/specifications.html" on this server. AMD's Ryzen 7000 still holds the advantage in all power consumption metrics, including peak power and efficiency, resulting in more forgiving cooling requirements and a cooler and quieter system. However, AMD has increased its power consumption significantly with this generation, so the advantage isn't as pronounced as we've seen in the past. Intel's Core i5-13600K's IGP does demonstrate a modest performance gain over its direct predecessor in most tests, but it is outpaced by the Core i9-13900K's IGP in all tests. The one exception where the Core i5-13600K performs slower than the Core i5-12600K is in Tomb Raider, which appears to stress the CPU more. This enables the Core i5-12600K to pull ahead, not because it has the fastest CPU in the bunch, but because its slower CPU doesn’t get quite as hot, allowing the IGP to run better, with more thermal headroom. Your company as an importer and/or exporter is responsible for determining the correct classification of your transaction. Given this information, it seemed likely that these processors would trade places, depending on the test, but instead the Core i5-13600K performs better in every test. It doesn't win by a wide margin in some tests, but it does win. The Core i5-12600K, for its part, was left in the dust, and the Core i5-13600K even manages to perform slightly better than the 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X in a few tests. (That said, the Core i5 lost to the 16-core/32-thread Ryzen 9 7950X badly in most tests, as you'd expect.) CPU Pricing and Value: Intel. No problems wit this. Though with the recent price cuts, It's probably a tie. Isn't it fun when something arrives and you start off with thinking one thing, and end up coming away with quite a different impression? We know from past experience that the Intel Core i9 processors are fantastic performers, and we are nothing if not obse... Finally, the pricing advantage of DDR4 is simply too much to ignore, especially with lower-tier systems in this price range. While the premium for DDR5 has receded, you’ll still pay up to twice as much for a DDR5 kit as for DDR4, and AMD doesn't support the latter. For Raptor Lake, the slim performance advantage of DDR5 certainly doesn’t justify the extra price for DDR4, at least not for most users. Additionally, perhaps the best memory kit is the one you don’t have to buy — many upgraders likely already have a DDR4 kit, which is a plus. All of our testing uses DDR5, though we do link to Raptor Lake DDR4 testing and mention multiple times that this can cost around a 4% performance loss, on average. We also reference both DDR4 and DDR5 pricing in all the relevant areas. Specifications: Intel. This looks like nothing more than a repeat of CPU Pricing and Value. In other words, just a way to give Intel another win.
