Whatever you’re facing, hold onto these scriptures on hope in the Bible and the promise that God is with you in your individual situation. Remember the time in the Bible when God gave Noah a rainbow as a sign that God keeps his promises. As He was faithful to Noah, He will be faithful to you. The fact is that anyone who chooses to withhold forgiveness has not been to the cross, and has not allowed God to forgive them of their own sins. Not being willing or able to forgive those who have sinned against us is a sign of unbelief.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

The way that I can walk in mercy (for myself) every day is by simply extending mercy to those around me. The person who cuts me off when I am driving, the miserable store clerk, the friend who might have offended me in some way. If I forget that I need mercy myself, I may forget that I need to extend mercy to others.

But moreover, God promises to give us eternal salvation. Take a moment to remember the most precious of all God’s promises to us. Thanks to Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, God promises to forgive us and give us eternal life with Him.

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever.” It helps a lot to live according to his principles of work and financial stewardship, but even when we fail at this, he always manages to find a way to see that his children are provided for. A theme that runs through the whole Bible as much as any other is that God humbles the proud, and exalts the humble. That is why I chose this photo to illustrate the promise that God continues to pour His love into our hearts by His Holy Spirit which He has given us. His love for us is a rushing river of His goodness towards us that never ends. While this truth is more real than everything else around us, it is easy to struggle to actually comprehend the greatness of God's love for us. I often feel that words fail to adequately describe His love.

Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
