About this deal

Lambert: Well it's interesting because I felt like there were times where I was battling with myself between following my instincts and having my own integrity and then trying to do something that I thought other people would like and pop music is so much about appealing to the masses. Baltin: Was there one moment where you really noticed your voice changing and it allowed you to convey different emotions? And so it's interesting because I didn't even think about it consciously but yeah, almost all of the artists on the album were people that have had like their own moment, their own sound. Metro Weekly 's Sean Maunier wrote, "With a mix of songs that allow him to show off a range and versatility, High Drama highlights Lambert's skill as a curator, a side of himself that he has not really shown off much up until this point.

Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic said, "High Drama is such an ideal title for Adam Lambert, a singer who specializes in grand, overheated gestures," and "he takes pains to give the 11 songs on High Drama distinctive arrangements that clearly delineate his version from the original. Lambert: And I feel for me, I can look back on the stuff I did on Idol, and even the beginning of my journey with Queen and I watched performances and I'm like, I think a couple different things. Adam Lambert: Absolutely, at the BMG party, I got to see some of the other acts that are signed to the label, which was exciting. Put bluntly, its lyrics about coming to terms with the passage of time hit a bit differently coming from someone a fair bit older and further into his career. At the start of the 2022, Lambert joined the judging panel for the new ITV (UK) Saturday night entertainment show Starstruck alongside Beverley Knight, Sheridan Smith, Jason Manford, and host Olly Murs. High Drama’, is a wonderfully diverse collection of covers with a twist, held together by Adam’s once-in-a-generation voice and trademark flair. While we absolutely need someone to bring us glam rock stump and queer dance pop, Lambert's once in a generation voice is capable of so much more.

For me, it’s been really challenging to twist these songs into completely different arrangements and make them sound brand new.I now know more than ever exactly who I am and what I'm about and what my brand is, and what my sound is, and who my fans are," Lambert says. Vote up content that is on-topic, within the rules/guidelines, and will likely stay relevant long-term.

I know a lot of my queer friends that are huge Beyonce fans were like thrilled when that album came out and it was great. I was a skeptic, but this album blew me away, some covers took my breath away in the best sense of the word.are different enough and good enough to justify their existence and show what an album of cover versions delivered with "high drama" could have been, but does anybody really need yet another karaoke cover version of "I Can't Stand The Rain" or "Mad About The Boy"? And Julia Michaels and Ilsey Juber and Freddie Wexler wrote that song, and I actually heard the demo years ago before Pink recorded it.
