About this deal

innocent childhood game given a horror movie coating, sinisterizing the phrase "come out, come out, wherever you are..." At the same time, a young man is released from a psychiatric facility, and reunites with his twin sister. Bodie has issues, while Amelia seems like a successful artist; though, as the story progresses, and more young, red-haired women are found murdered, it becomes obvious that there is a lot more going on with this pair. And it’s dark. The writing was a little wonky for me from the very start, but I was intrigued to see where it was going regardless.

Hide-a-Saurus Dinosaur Counting Worksheet - If your EYFS children are still working on their counting and are quite ready for addition just yet, this worksheet is perfect. Children need to count how many dinosaurs they see and write the number in the circle. I read the original version of Hide last year when it released, and while I enjoyed it, I remember thinking it had a lot of facets that didn't translate well to a written novel and would have worked better in a visual medium, like a film or mini-series—or, lo and behold, a graphic novel! There are some moments that I giggled in this book Gardner’s writing is so good and flows so well - little excerpt of Catherine (main damsel in Book 1 talking to Annabelle damsel from this book about Bobby and DD): There are several other viable suspects, as well, all of them in some way connected to the abandoned mental hospital where the bodies were found. i was expecting a Battle Royale kind of story, and it wasn't until i had the ARC in my hot little hands that i learned this was a rework of the minotaur/labyrinth myth, an unexpected supernatural angle which forced me to recalibrate—and if i'm being honest— lower my expectations. The seven are - Lauren who works at the reserve; Emily, her sister, with whom she has only recently become reacquainted after 10 years; Morna, an older woman who volunteers at the reserve; Alec a fussy little man who considers himself superior to everyone and knows some of their secrets; Ben, a seemingly sweet and shy young man who fancies Emily; Dan, a new group member who is still grieving the death of his wife and unborn child and Kai, who has some secrets of his own. They set out from the visitor centre and split up among the various hides around the reserve to wait for the starling action. I'm more of a plot-driven fan, but I did enjoy the character introspection and the frisson of tension amongst the group. Some parts of the story did lag for me and could do with an edit, however, by the end of the book I had so many intense feelings for these characters. How can you feel so much outrage/sympathy/hope/despair/anger for fictional people? Somehow, Nell Pattison was able to give me all the feels. I was also caught up in the wonderful characterization. Clark crafted her female protagonist with such authenticity and tenacity, that I was instantly drawn to her. I kept rooting for her as she stood her ground with her new partner and demanded respect. Each Twinkl Originals story comes with a collection of teaching resources to inspire cross-curricular learning. What is one to one correspondence?

The gardens of the state are a fecund wilderness, Eden after the Fall, whose plant and bird life are described in detail by the observant Simon. Simon lives with his dominant sister Audrey whose dead husband had owned the house and estate. Also resident as an unpaid servant is Marion, a young relative of Audrey’s dead husband. The employment of Josh as a gardener sets in play a series of events culminating in disaster. Thank you to NetGalley, Clarkson Potter, Ten Speed Press, Kiersten White, Scott Peterson (adaptation writer), and Veronica and Andy Fish (illistrators) for the opportunity to read Hide: The Graphic Novel in exchange for an honest review. In all honesty, when I got to the end this is more of a supernatural horror book than the adventure I thought I was getting. The only clue is a little bold sentence at the end of the blurb, I should have paid closer attention.I want to express my sincere thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the ARC of Hide in return for an honest review. This is my first book by Nell Pattison, but am already looking for other books by this dynamic author. This was an outstanding thriller with the tension and suspense maintained throughout. I thought the storytelling was brilliant with a heart-pounding, character-driven plot that made the book impossible for me to put down. I want to preface this review by saying I haven't read the novel this is based on, so my opinions are seperate from any differences there might be from that. To start out with, there are WAY too many characters (fourteen!) to keep straight. They are first and often identified by their "identities"-ie "intern" "writer" etc. Then we get names and identities sometimes used interchangeably. When I got to the middle of the book, I wished I would have kept a chart from the beginning, but in the end many of the characters were totally throwaway so it didn't really matter. Modern twist on a legend in Greek mythology (not telling though). Throw in a bit of Hunger Games and ready, set, go! Meanwhile, adult twin brother and sister, Bodie and Amelia, wrestle with their upbringing by a father who had a penchant for murdering young, red-headed women with blue eyes. They haven’t seen him for years, not since he dropped them off as freshmen at college, both of their tuitions completely paid. But the years they spent under his roof, where they became aware of what he was doing, have left their mark. Might one of them be involved in the murder? Or their father, if he's even still alive?
