About this deal

The world-time function was the closer for me and ended my hunt for a dedicated, mechanical world-time watch. I was agonizing over adding yet another watch to my collection that would be single-purpose, and a relatively quirky one at that. The GW-5000U-1JF is a veritable Swiss Army knife. In the week I’ve owned it, I’ve found multiple uses for the stopwatch, timer, and alarm functions as well. And I’ve used the world-time function more often than I thought I would already. I may be at serious risk of a one-watch collection if I don’t start wearing another watch soon. GW-5000-1JF and GW-M5610 models discontinued, replaced by GW-5000U-1JF and GW-M5610U with updated module September 2, 2021 What is different is the construction. Yours is all resin – strap, case, and bezel. The GW-5000 has a steel case, tho the bezel and strap are still resin. BUT, the resin used on the GW-5000 is far better than what’s on the 5610, it’s more supple and comfortable. The 5610 resin feels more plasticy wereas the GW-5000 feels more like a high quality rubber. months on rechargeable battery (operation period with normal use without exposure to light after charge) Same watch just an EU release apparently. Wouldn’t get to hung up about the JF/ER. Go for the best deal.

I don’t know of anyone who does it commercially, but you can find out more about the process on Google. Then the new ‘U’ version came out and I bought the GW-5610U discounted to see if the changes made any real difference. Perfect for free diving without scuba gear: the watch is water resistant up to 20 bar according to ISO 22810. Auto receive up to six* times a day (remaining auto receives canceled as soon as one is successful) Some specifications (price, material, weight, Neobrite, etc.) for individual models may vary within a series. Some models listed may not be available in all countries. The thing I have noticed compared to the GW-M5610U-1ER is that the strap is very much softer. I’ve read this comment from others previously and it really is true!

Elapsed time, split time and final time are measured with 1/100-sec accuracy. The watch can measure times of up to 24 hours. And then I’ll end here with the technical specifications and the price of the Casio G-Steel GST-W130L. Although the maximum width of the stainless steel and resin casing may just exceed 50mm, the bezel diameter is 44mm. And that’s the feeling the watch gives as well as being worn. A rather, but not overly large watch which wears comfortable. The price in Europe currently is €299 (including VAT), which in my opinion is a bargain. Thanks for the replies, the colour scheme is certainly one of the nicest I’ve seen…I’m teetering on the edge…You won’t regret it.I received mine the other day and I can’t believe the difference! The extra weight and strap make this feel so premium. Actually the way the 5610 strap sits on my wrist vs this one means that the 5000u actually sits better but has extra height and heft make it “feel” so much more. Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI think they are but will be interesting to compare against one advertised as 1JF. It will be my fourth 5000, all previously and regretfully sold due to a mix of failing eyesight and dial readability.
