About this deal

At first, I was a little let down and disappointed, I found it waaay too femme, way too floral and just not something I would ever go for, but after a few hours, my opinion on it totally changed. Infusion d’Iris Cedre strictly follows Prada’s fragrance aesthetics, it is clean, cold and totally unisex. It opens with just a touch of piercing neroli, and goes straight to iris. This iris is Prada’s signature - cold, powdery, retro and slightly chemical. Not the iris we can encounter in Dior Homme. Woodsy notes of cedar give the slight masculine touch. The warmer benzoin gives this composition needed touch of human warmth, while the incense somehow stays cold and archaic. The overall composition is clean, unobtrusive and little bit retro. Like a retro soap or a bubble bath. I can smell north Italian roots of Prada company (Milan, but also Bologna or Venice). I think maybe at the time i just wasn't ready for this masterpiece to be mine, I didn't appreciate the beauty in its golden vintage style liquid. Over the last year ive wasted more money on failed blind buys than anyone will ever know, i think trying to figure out what fragrance i can call my own; my signature style. And i have gravitated towards pradas infusion d'iris line for so long now that i think this one is it, my special scent that just fits. Ive always loved fragrances that were thought to be ' too old' for me, aldehydic, chypre scents but didnt think i was ready for them yet so I would try wearing the age appropriate fruitchoulis, the gourmands.. and all the things can tolerate but dont really love.

First off, it is different. Those who detect no difference between the two compositions are probably working from memory. Yes, they are more similar than either is to, say, CHANEL NO 5. But they are distinct compositions, without a doubt. My initial impression upon applying ABSOLUE was that this version was quite a bit more resinous than the original, what I see borne out in the hierarchy of notes above, where not only benzoin but also "mastic resin" is listed. This version also seems sweeter and inches in the direction of Guerlain L'INSTANT. It also conjures up in my mind memories of Kenzo FLOWER. One review mentions the Prada baby oil accord and, yes, I'd have to agree that it is much more pronounced in this version. This perfume is classic and elegant but behind that there is much more. It is a deep perfume, which I identify with meditation. With the connection with the earth and the universe, a mystical perfume, which makes me think of someone who meditates in the mornings, who loves nature and calmness. Someone who loves crystals and knows the meaning of each one. It is a perfume for those who feel peace inside, and when you spray it on you is what makes you feel. Longevity is fair, I can get around 6 hours out of this but projection is very, very soft indeed. Lively enough for hot weather but almost dead if used in cold weather. I was expecting a slightly better performance from an eau de parfum (and it is labelled as an EdP), but still pretty much ok. In comparison, Infusion d'Homme was an EdT with better sillage and longevity. Prada Infusion d'Iris is one fancy perfume that lives up to its powdery smooth iris-based fragrance that is soft and easy to wear.It smells clean and expensive. It you like this kind of stuff, go directly for 200 ml, because frankly the smaller ones are just too expensive. And even if you don't want to, you will end up using it like a cologne, you will overspray it and FREQUENTLY in summer. As it behaves like a cologne, you will treat it like one.

As this is unfortunately discontinued I will cherish every moment wearing it but I won't make an effort to save it, I'd rather enjoy it, as I hope to do with the rest of my perfume collection. After all, 80ml of perfume (50+30 ;) ) will last me for a while - lol Most powdery, woodsy, and floral notes relay memories of vintage cosmetics and childhood. The romantic floral fragrances enhanced with delicate notes create a sense of deepness and sensuality. It’s the smell of a clean body - when you get out of the shower after you’ve washed yourself with expensive soaps, shampoos and conditioners and then apply luxurious body creams.

Prada Infusion d'Iris Eau de Parfum - At A Glance

Prada Infusion D'Iris is just beautiful! Cozy, clean, fresh, fluffy - feels like what I imagine a cloud to smell like. Nothing sweet here, I smell no vanilla or tonka at all. I've owned the other EDT and EDP versions, loved them as well from first-sniff but kept having issues with longevity. Now having more experience with iris and neroli centered fragrances I understand that longevity, even from the most expensive houses, is actually really good at 4 hrs simply given the nature of these ingredients. They just aren't the type of flowers that have monster sillage anyway and in perfume, they won't have that last-forever longevity. I can appreciate that now! And I certainly don't mind re-applying, I can do so all day long and never tire of it! 😊 ❤️ HOWEVER, I just can't feel comfortable blowing through bottles and spending more money to keep replacing them... Prada definitely stripped this one down, as is often the case, reformulation means that you have a lesser perfume. 2015 lies somewhere between the original Id’I and Prada Homme (which I ultimately didn’t like, between the two.) 2015 is overall softer, has less sillage, and is less complex than the original. Stays close to the skin and seems to last less than the original or I get this impression because it could be mistaken for a skin scent after a certain point and that's not the case with the first EDP. I don't get the same clarity in the transition of notes here, the lines are blurred and the whole composition seems more compact. Ohmygoshyo. It's every bit as wonderful as the original Infusion d'Iris but I'd say the Cedre version has a couple of the kinks worked out (if there are truly any kinks in the original). It's a bit smoother (than an already smooth fragrance), a bit rounder (than an already round fragrance). And oddly enough the awesome beautiful aloofness of the Iris is pushed forward more in my opinion. Really, this is closer to Chanel No 19.

Honestly, I was not even sure there would be the next one, these Infusions are not statement pieces nor do they stand out by their originality. But they are extremely well done, delightfully wearable and almost automatic reach as they are always appropriate and so damn polite. It has a strong foundation of delicious vanilla and amber, which, combined with sandalwood, leather, and floral, is incredibly seductive. Warm amber and excellent, crisp Bergamot sandalwood. If you look at the top notes, it's a perfect mixture of peach gardenia and bergamot, which adds a fresh citrus note to the perfume, making it calming and attractive at first glance. Those that are going somewhere where perfume may be inappropriate: funeral, surgery, long distance travels. On the Infusion d`Homme bottle you will find Neroli de Tunisie, Irris Pallida, Bois de Cedre, VETIVER, Encens de Somalie and Benjoin du Laos. I wrote in my first review about a year ago that i bought a bottle of this in hopes it would satisfy my longing for the original infusion d iris edp, which at the time was hard to find and unbelievably pricey here in Oz, but since i was wanting the fresh soapy qualities of the origional, I found it was too dry, powdery and strong for me so i gave it to my mum.

A Long-lasting Fragrance

Strong but warm and comforting, with longevity and needed sillage. You can tell when you smell it. Luxurious and seamless merging, outstandingly innovative with nearing perfection. This clean, cash predominant up-close scent remains for a long time, at least 3 to 4 hours. During that time, the iris and musk continue to develop, its billowing wafts get longer and stronger... Until you are enveloped in a GORGEOUS iris bubble.
