Well, I can’t really disagree with the claim that the Canon EOS 200D Mark II DSLR camera is the company’s lightest DSLR so far. There are a lot of photo/video cameras that have found a role as B-cameras on professional film productions or even A-cameras for amateur and independent productions. Might actually consider selling my Fuji XT-10 and switch back to Canon, (great IQ but don't love the weight). Hey Wubslin, do you NOT have ANY memories with loved ones that you'd like to capture or are you so isolated that you don't care about memories?
The "why" of the 200d/SL2 is simple: It is a fantastic camera for beginners - it has the choice of both worlds (mirror up/down), offers great smartphone compatiblity, has great ergonomics, is really easy to use, and it is small enough to toss it into your travel bag. One can example go through a wedding ceremony with single battery and take a 6500 frames and still be left for half of the power.

The fact is, if you’re into regular stills photography and you already more or less know your way around a camera, the EOS 250D/Rebel SL3 has nothing that the EOS 200D/Rebel SL2 hasn’t already got. As with the rest of the industry, Canon has in the last couple of years been increasingly leaning towards mirrorless.I suspect I am not alone in having bought the SL1 because of its size/performance capability, not because I am a beginner. The Live View focus is the third generation, Dual Pixel CMOS AF3 in Mark II, and only Dual Pixel CMOS AF in Eos 200D. In live view the gain is much smaller, increasing from 260 shots to 320, but this shows the much heavier power drain of digital displays – and why people still choose DSLRs when so many pundits claim mirrorless is the future! Stay connected to the camera with the Bluetooth Low Energy connection and send images to your mobile devices via Wi-Fi as you shoot for ease of sharing. It has become the camera I grab when I am walking out the door because it is so easy to carry and use.
