The last part of the book was rushed, the plot and character backstories are never fully developed and the end was confusing to me. Faced with an almost complete lack of evidence lack, even, of a body the case of the missing girl is still open, and, though the commotion and media circus which engulfed the small town has long since subsided, Sheriff Bill Delaney is no nearer a resolution. Written with mesmerizing prose and chilling attention to detail, Isabella Moon both astonishes and impresses in its exploration of the coexistence of good and evil and – as Kate observes – the “single sharp line” that separates them. The crystal keeper gazed around him at the shards of impure crystal, glittering furiously on the floor, and shivered with a terrible sense of foreboding.This book was one of the few books that I have really disliked and cannot think of one person I would recommend it to. International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions. Indeed, the novel does double duty as a survival manual, packed full of good advice—for instance, try not to get wounded, for “injury turns you from a giver to a taker. the ending is ambiguous but that fits well with the mood of the book (definitely not a satisfying ending though). The other characters were wonderful, including the despicable Janet Roarke and disgusting Paxton Birkenshaw. She loves the night, bats, and the colour black, but she also loves the outdoors, using her magic wand, and the colour pink.
