About this deal

Sixteen years later, Rose has never resumed a normal life. Her visits to her elderly neighbor Ronnie are the extent of her social life. Ronnie has always been there, and after he loses his dear wife, she helps him out every once in awhile. When he falls ill and is taken to the hospital, she feels guilty as if she may not have been helping him enough. His house could use a thorough cleaning. What she finds as she tidies up will change her life and throw everything she thought she knew into doubt: did Ronnie have something to do with the death of her little brother? I have read the 3 previous novel by KL Slater and find her novels very enjoyable and of a consistently high standard. This is a fast paced psychological thriller that gets the reader hooked and wanting to learn more. I was certainly hooked and just had to learn the truth causing me to stay up into the early hours to finish it. I was thrilled to read this newest K.L. Slater psychological thriller. I'm a huge fan and really enjoy her writing style and the suspense and tension she delivers in each of her novels. Her friend was assaulted one night by a masked man ... a man who had declared to Rose that the friend would pay for trying to break them up. She eventually committed suicide without ever having spoken to Rose again.

Missing by K. L. Slater Book Review – Missing by K. L. Slater

Samuel Barlow, the next-door neighbor, had been charged and was serving time in prison. Samuel’s mum, Maggie had lied to the police to cover for her son after murder of the schoolboy, Rose is watching her eight year old brother when she takes her eyes off him, he wanders off and is not found for 2 days..... This was the fourth book I’ve read from K.L. Slater. And while it was a good solid thriller, it wasn’t one of my favorites I’ve read of hers. Unfortunately I can’t elaborate on the ‘why’ without giving something away. So my friends, you’ll just have to read for yourself and see... Second, I have an issue with Rose as a character. Though I understand a teenage girl being infatuated with a dashing older man, Rose seems overly foolish. She constantly makes excuses for Gareth's terrible behavior; believes whatever he says; and gives in to him against her better judgement. Even as an adult, Rose has trouble dealing with the manipulative creep. I just don't like to see a character being such a doormat (and a little whiny to boot). As the police become more involved with the investigation, the motives for Grace’s disappearance come to light. Who has more secrets to keep? Against their better judgment Blake and Lucie agree. The caveat? Both fathers will keep watch from a discreet distance. Grace will never know.

The Girlfriend: An utterly unputdownable psychological

This morning, my daughter sat right here, munching her breakfast, too excited to finish it. Now, she is missing. Grace’s mom Lucie is beside herself. If only Lucie hadn’t said yes when her daughter insisted. Blake, Grace’s dad is a Councilman. Could his job be the reason Grace is missing? Turns out he’s been keeping secrets. Lucie has a few secrets of her own, things her husband knows nothing about. We all know what secrets can do to a family.. The question is, where is little Grace? I was kinda sure I had it worked out but was wrong, the author has the ability to make you think you know…..only to realise you don’t I was introduced to K.L Slater with her novel, “Liar”. Although I was a huge fan of “Liar”, I am an even bigger fan of “The Mistake”.This. Book. Is. Amazing. I dropped everything and read it in two sittings. It’s addictive, it’s dark and twisty, it’s deceitful, you think you’ve worked out what’s going on and nope… twisty again… Everyone needs to read this.’ Goodreads reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Genres covered in this novel include Mystery, Thriller, Suspense, Psychological Thriller, and Psychological Fiction amongst others. There are lots of books about people and children who are missing out there and so I wondered what would make this one different, I cant say 🤗 except to say there is an interesting take on the subject and some big twists and turns and a few red herrigs thrown in along the way Rose’s story is told through the past and present and we learn of “The Mistake” she made and the guilt she carries. We could feel the weight of guilt and the loss that she carried allowing us to question “The Mistake” for ourselves. We recommend this with caution as some readers could find it upsetting. When Rose is only 18 she meets such a man. A very charming older man Gareth, who begins sweeping her off her feet. Ignoring her inner voice and friends warnings, she is soon in over her head, unable to break free.
