Hitch Trailblazer: Hitch is dedicated to helping every pony in Maretime Bay as their caring sheriff. In the Make Your Mark Chapter 5 episode Cutie Blossom Bash, the concept of the "cute-ceañera" is shown to have evolved into the "Cutie Blossom Bash". In Viva Las Pegasus, Steam Roller's hourglass cutie mark goes from being alongside him to being on him.
In the two-part season four finale, the cutie marks of ponies who lose their magic (whether stolen by Lord Tirek or voluntarily given up) vanish, either entirely (in most cases) or partially (in the case of Princess Luna). In the Battle of the Bands, the Crusaders wear costumes similar to the ones their pony counterparts wear in The Show Stoppers. They triumph over Derpy's band, but they are eliminated by Flash Sentry's band. At the end of the film, they walk with Sunset Shimmer in the hallway during Shine Like Rainbows. Cutie Mark Crew is the blind bag-style set that has served as a replacement of sorts for the G4 Blind Bag Ponies that were released from 2011 to early 2018. The Cutie Mark Crew sets began to show up in Europe first, before hitting the U.S. In A Royal Problem, Starlight Glimmer temporarily switches the cutie marks of Princesses Celestia and Luna, which also switches their magical auras and abilities.

Another difference between the capsules is the shape. There are currently 3 different types as seen in our Cutie Mark Crew database. Without opening the capsules you are able to feel the shapes through the cardboard, but it's prone to errors. With our capsules there was another hint on the shape: the height of the edges on the bottom. Apple Bloom suggests that it's for the best and points out the video's comments, one of which calls the video the "funniest thing I've ever seen". The Crusaders take this to mean they should try comedy and run off.

Misty, a unicorn mare, is notably without a cutie mark until Missing the Mark. In Music to My Ears, the Cutie Mark Crusaders pass by DJ Pon-3 on the street while she listens to dubstep on her headphones. In Shake Your Tail, Apple Bloom briefly appears among a crowd of Canterlot High students during the Rainbooms' performance. While sitting on Big McIntosh's shoulders, she hits a beach ball into the air. In Perfect Day for Fun, the Crusaders dance during the Rainbooms' concert and gather together for a group photo with Vice Principal Luna, Big McIntosh, Miss Cheerilee, Spike, Trixie Lulamoon, Granny Smith, DJ Pon-3, and Flash Sentry. In the encore short My Past is Not Today, the Crusaders briefly appear alongside other Canterlot High School students, rejecting the reformed Sunset Shimmer during the second verse. The Crusaders get their first starring role in The Canterlot Movie Club, in which they help Pinkie attempt to locate her missing Gummy doll. Notably, Scootaloo makes her first speaking appearance.
