The Skyscape Scout is a fantastic option between a tarp and a tent. The hybrid design gives you plenty of space, a good level of protection and all at a relatively low weight. This is an absolute bargain for anyone looking for a different shelter to get out and explore in.

The rest of the trip was fine, I just had to accept that I can’t sleep at the tops as I used with my 3.5 kg winter tent. Single-person tents have a terrible but well-deserved reputation for being uncomfortably snug. If you’re tall, you may have an even harder time finding a tent you can sit upright in.
