The diffuser has undergone rigorous testing and refinement in practice to meet the advanced standards of professional aesthetic dental photography. The number of tests depends on the individual product but we are confident in this product having tested all the major functions. Each unit has a guide number of 16, and the built-in lithium battery gives you up to 500 full power flashes before needing a recharge. For this first-look review i only had 1 unit of MF12 and could not test the usage of 2 or more units simultaneously yet.

The flash head can be rotated 180° on the bracket, allowing it to be positioned as close as needed to the lens and effectively illuminating the posterior molar region.

XproIIS+ also features one-touch activation of the modeling light, making it incredibly efficient for dental photography.

Placed on the same optical axis as the lens, the ring flash provides a shadowless character of light, so that the subject is evenly illuminated and all details are clearly visible. The MF12 is so versatile and can be used in so many variations and situations, that it is now one of the best additions to my flash gear. For on and off camera use, the flash heads require a separately purchased transmitter and are compatible with the Godox XPro, X1, X2, and other select wireless flash triggers for main brand cameras such as Nikon, Sony, Canon, Olympus, and Panasonic. It’s not only ideal to work on its own, but also can serve as a multi-flash solution when several units attach to the mounting ring (available separately), forming a ring flash effect or other flexible light effects as you wish. However I found a bug on my deck last weekend and took some test shots, using X-T3 and Laowa 65mm, 2 MF-12 flash heads.

If you do decide to add more flash units to your set up then you open up a whole new world of possibilities for your photography. The MF12 allows the user to capture sharp, detailed images of small subjects like plants, insects and animals at a very close distance. The MF12 Macro Flash Ring comes with a set of Colour Correction Gels, and a set of Creative colour gels enabling you to either balance the flash with the ambient lighting or for adding a creative twist to your images.
