About this deal

The bottle itself remains pretty much untouched from the 1960s. It’s manly, weighty, straight-lined bottle emits the golden glow of the fragrance lurking inside. Completed with a gold cap. You are welcome to tear me to pieces for this, since there are a lot of Spicebomb fans and since this is my first comment here. Of course, Spicebomb is mainstream and is heavily pushed by many (including Pirouette Man) on YouTube and Insta, etc., but the scent is just too sweet and can be described as a cinnamon-vanilla bomb. Aramis goes a different way here and creates a winter scent that is much more classy than Spicebomb extreme. Also for younger people I can only recommend this fragrance. Performance is not the best on this list, longevity is 3-4 hours with moderate sillage and projection. Could certainly make a decent office scent or discreet but classy daywear fragrance.

Presented in true Aramis style with its elegant straight-lined bottle with gold cap and brown leather coloured label with gold edging. Presented in a classy straight-lined bottle with gold cap and matching gold label. Not the highest quality bottle up close. Aramis has been launching a new fragrance nearly every year as of late. Tobacco Reserve follows last year's launch of Aramis Modern Leather. Opening with a blast of green notes, coriander, citrus and rosewood, you could be fooled into thinking that’s it. Patience is needed for this beauty to fully reveal itself. I know some people here really like TR, but in hindsight and considering the fact that it was discontinued - what might have you done to make the fragrance better. Make it more of a powerhouse? More intense tobacco note? Etc.

Reviews

As for when to wear, for autumn/winter Havana Eau de Toiletteis perfect for daywear and nightwear, but equally happy as a warmer season scent but more for evening wear when its dark and rich notes come nicely into play. Upon dry-down, a sensual base of rich, spicy (and slightly fruity) cashmeran becomes the star of the show, with cedar and warm amber close behind producing a rather luxurious finish. Although tonka bean is listed, I did not personally detect any.

Well, I don't know. I think I only bought it because it's pretty unique for me and a "real" Aramis. So, out of decency, somehow. I also take was not really masculine, but to women it does not fit either (except see later in the text). From the level and the speciality (not from the smell!) it should be possible to position it next to the Aramis (Classic) (unfortunately I can't find anything about first scent impressions from 1964). I had read in another commentator once, "it is not a scent but a smell". That's the way I'd see it here. The or a peculiarity, something long and sensational both have as characteristic. But I can't spontaneously think of the occasion for which I should wear it - except to go to church or as an altar boy. The fragrance could fit to the "Allvater" because of the sacral opulence (who knows the series "The Preacher"...). No kidding aside. Probably it comes across well on a lonely forest walk in autumn or winter (no matter region, the main thing is lonely). I once had an office colleague from the gothic scene. A very sweet and nice one (she had such small, sweet coffins in her potted flowers...). She always wore an extreme sweet Patchouli incense stuff unknown to me (was probably a self-creation). I think she'd like the scent. At the moment, however, I remain on the usage route. Aramis Special Bendis a luxury scent consisting of boozy/woody/musky notes that is undeniably extravagant and rather Clive Christian-esque in its delivery. Tonka bean from the base rises after 30 minutes or so to provide a smooth but slightly dirty almond/vanilla note. Very suave smelling.

Presented in a straight-lined bottle with a gun-metal grey cap and complementing grey coloured label with white surround. The fragrance itself emits a golden glow. Aramis Tobacco Reserveis an indulgent aromatic tobacco fragrance enhanced by creamy tonka bean, oakmoss and sage for a mature gentleman’s club feel. This is an incredibly versatile and refined cologne which is pretty much an any-season fragrance. More suited to daytime smart-casual wear rather than full-on formal evening attire, it feels great on. Performance is excellent as Aramis by Aramis is really long-lasting with strong sillage and projection. Longevity is 7+ hours, longer on clothing.

Launched in 1982, Aramis JHL is a traditional cologne that blends spices and woods. Delicate floral notes such as carnation, ylang-ylang and rose also appear for a well rounded masculine scent. While many of Aramis's fragrances are colognes or eaux de toilette, Tobacco Reserve (like Modern Leather) is an eau de parfum concentration, suggesting possibly greater projection and longevity.Upon dry-down, leather provides the main base note, closely followed by oak-moss and a dash of sweet-smelling patchouli. A light combo of sweet tonka bean and cinnamon also rise after an hour or two. So on the passage to Point Comfort, the crew was in high spirits, while their captain grew more nervous by the day. The crew blamed it on possible discovery by the British. No wonder, they couldn't even have put up a proper fight, the gun barrels were stuffed with tobacco and they wouldn't have found the powder among all the cargo. But that was not the reason. Upon dry-down, leather is most dominant and accompanied by oakmoss. Dry, smokey vetiver and deep woody notes also creep in. Settles into a rich leather scent with manly woods, exotic herbs and an animalic castoreum note.

The Tobacco Reserve starts very sweet with tonka and tobacco. Sage spices and nutmeg provides a very subtle spiciness. Fruity notes flashed briefly times and are then gone again. I would not have recognized currant. A little moss at the end and that's it. The initial sweetness becomes more bearable as it progresses, resulting in a finely balanced scent between tobacco and spices that also has a fairly good longevity. Smoky I do not find him thereby. And now for the animalic woody chypre classic launched in 1963, simply known as Aramis by Aramis. This confident, masculine fragrance is living proof that a leather/woody scent does not always need to be softened with vanilla or a bouquet of florals to stand out from the crowd. Like a warm and sweet smokey hug that warps you up and protects you from the winters cold. He isn't sexy or attractive, just a dark figure that disappears into the night. A ovely fresh spicy tobacco smell. It's surprisingly well composed and mature, herbal, smokey, masculine, elegant, clean, cozy, inviting and comfortably masculine. Although this contemporary scent was only introduced in 2018, there are rumours of it being discontinued so grab a bottle of this classy fragrance while you can. Smells incredibly expensive. I am sort of surprised, because Aramis fragrances in general appeal to a smaller demographic vs a lot of other brands, so they are selling less across the board anyway. So for them to discontinue Tobacco Reserve, they must have been selling next to nothing of this fragrance relatively speaking. You can expect 4+ hours of performance with moderate sillage and projection. Pretty good price/performance, however, watch out as seems this particular scent is getting more expensive. Keep an eye out at any decent fragrance discounter.
