About this deal

I'm not a blanker. I may be a naught but I'm worth more than nothing. I'm not a blanker. A waste of time and space. A zero. I'm not a blanker. I'M NOT A BLANKER. Masali continued: “Sephy is a very privileged character and person. Playing her helped me recognise my own privileges that I have, whether that’s within the world or within South Africa. I think she made me question a lot of things I was doing out of ignorance and things I needed to unlearn and change and grow within myself. Sephy's life begins to fall apart, as the Crosses hate her for helping Jude escape the noose, and the Noughts because she didn't come to his aid sooner. While singing "Rainbow Child" to Callie Rose, she hugs her too tightly, causing the child to stop breathing. The book ends with Meggie repeatedly screaming at Sephy, "What have you done?" Callum knows all too well. From being constantly suspected of every possible crime and assumed the worst of, to being denied an education and treated like he's not just stupid but incapable of learning the skills the Crosses have - every day he faces the fact that he's lower than second-class because of one arbitrary fact he has no control over: the colour of his skin.

Meggie McGregor: Supporting character in all books. Callum's mother, who had been Sephy's nanny until Jasmine fired her. She convinces Sephy to move in with her and is very close to Callie Rose. However, a threat to call social services about Callie Rose estranges Sephy from her. Callum learns that an organisation called the Liberation Militia is planning to bomb a shopping centre. Realising that Sephy is at the shopping centre, Callum rushes to rescue her. My emotions are not letting me gather my thoughts hence I'll just write few things which I can remember off the top of my head and then shut up and go away in search of another box of tissues. Alone in the house together, Sephy and Callum have sex, and Sephy instantly bursts into tears afterwards. Jude and Morgan return before Sephy and Callum are fully dressed and while Sephy is still crying. They conclude that Callum raped Sephy, and they share that someone told the police about them: police arrested Leila, Pete is dead, and Andrew is gone. Jude and Callum fight and while they’re distracted, Sephy runs away into the woods. Callum finds her before Jude or Morgan can, and he points her toward safety. Before she leaves, Sephy shares that Andrew is working with Mr. Hadley—Andrew is the man she saw meeting with Mr. Hadley years ago. Sephy gets home safely, and Callum, Morgan, and Jude split up for their safety.Honestly though, the things I took away were really the sensitivity things. Things to say, things not to say. Sometimes, it's really difficult to know what to say because you don't want to upset people, especially when you just don't understand how something feels and have never experienced what others have, and this book had some really good lessons on kind of things to avoid. I recently in another book review complained that an author used a situation in her book and called out racism and rather than teaching, she just straight up yelled at everyone. This book teaches, and I so so so appreciated it.

The ‘Noughts & Crosses’ series provides us with an explicit flip and twist on both the history and current political and cultural demographic of British society – where racial politics is turned on its head and power structures are completely reversed. As her episode is going to focus on Rosa Parker’s and the constant theme of this book was race and segregation, I ended up getting even more of a gasp on what her episode might be like than I originally expected.Sonny Devlin: A member of Sephy's band. Starts to go out with Sephy, but Sephy decides to end their relationship even though they have feelings for each other. He later murders Nathan due to jealousy.

Fullerton, Huw (11 April 2018). "Doctor Who and Being Human writer set to script YA adaptation Noughts and Crosses". Radio Times . Retrieved 21 August 2018. Then, Callum's family life begins to fall apart – his sister, Lynette, dies. Soon afterwards, Callum discovers his Dad, Ryan,We all make mistakes, and as long as we all learn from them and live in a graceful way, Callum does do that. Callie Rose wakes from her coma and finds out that Jude was indeed killed by the bomb. However, she also discovers that Tobey is now dating Rebecca, as she had been in a coma for so long. Five weeks after returning home, Sephy discovers she’s pregnant. Though Minnie initially agrees to keep Sephy’s pregnancy a secret, she ultimately tells Mother and Mr. Hadley. Mr. Hadley insists that Sephy get an abortion, but she refuses. Callum learns about Sephy’s pregnancy on the radio a few months later, and he heads home to see her.
