Something else I think is interesting is the fact that the Rand-and-Moridin body switch happened in the tunnel. So Rand, in Moridin's body, carried Rand's body out of the tunnel at the end of the confrontation before collapsing. The people at the cave entrance saw Moridin walking out carrying an unconscious Rand, and decided to heal them both. I think we can attribute that to Min's guidance, based on some viewing she had, but I think it's interesting. Almost all of the major deaths in A Memory of Light were planned by Jordan, although a few were left open to be decided on. Mandevwin insists that Vanin and Harnan are not Darkfriends. Faile assumes he must be wrong. She looks up at Thakan'dar and thinks she will get the Horn to Shayol Ghul. Selande and Arrela arrive from scouting and tell her they have seen a caravan.

Demandred arrives and asks him how it is he failed and he tells him that Egwene had a sa'angreal. Demandred gives him Sakarnen, saying he won't need it if Lews Therin comes as their strengths must be matched if he is to show himself the better. Taim thinks him insane, far worse than when they first met. As he leaves, Demandred tells him that Sakarnen is bonded to him and if Taim tries to use it against him it will destroy Taim. He tells Taim to use balefire against the Amyrlin. Jordan did not intend for the readers to see the discussion between Rand and Alivia regarding how she would “help him die.” Ta'veren, Rand, Mat and Perrin lead the Forces of the Light Summary [ ] Act I: Cauthon's Gambit [ ] Point of view: Lan Mandragoran The last book in the epic saga “The Wheel of Time has finally been written. We all know it wasn’t exactly the book Robert Jordan would have penned, that would have been impossible to duplicate, but we have to give thanks to Brandon Sanderson and the many folks that had supported Robert Jordan’s work. They have given us closure to a series that began in 1990, and for a while thought might never be completed. She looks around to see if she can see who is controlling him and sees that one of the so'jhin has images around her. She is suspicious, but not enough to condemn the woman so announces there is a spy for the Shadow. The so'jhin looks up and Min is sure. She announces it is Yulan and when she sees the relief of the so'jhin's face throws a knife at her, which is held in air. The woman flees through a gateway. The three Ayyad leave and he asks Shendla if she is worried, fighting alongside Trollocs and Halfmen despite not having given herself to the Shadow. She tells him she doesn't see his actions as evil, as he will remake the world and preserve her people. He briefly wonders what he will do once Lews Therin is dead and the world has been remade. If you're a fan of the sword wielding - hero to the save the world -epic fantasy type series, then this is one not to be missed. Jordan is able to take ... familiar elements and make them his own, in a powerful novel of wide and complex scope. Open religious and political conflicts add a gritty realism, while the cities and courts provide plenty of drama and splendor. Women have a stronger role than in Tolkien.... Each character in this large cast remains distinct.... Their adventures are varied, and exciting.... The Eye of the World stands alone as a fantasy epic.” — Locus Lan tells Tam that the battle is not done and that Demandred had sent a smaller force here to keep them from the battle at Hawal Ford. Lan leaves just before a gateway opens from Mayene, bringing refugees from Caemlyn who had insisted on being brought to the battle. Tam thinks that battle is not the place for them, but when he sees them retrieving arrows, he thinks they can be of use. Berelain asks after Galad.Everything Padan Fain. Sad waste of a potentially great villain. I really haven’t cared about him since he left the Whitecloaks and here it almost seemed like he was thrown in as an afterthought. I wish they would have just left him out of it. Terrible. The Last Battle has started. The seals on the Dark One’s prison are crumbling. The Pattern itself is unraveling, and the armies of the Shadow have begun to boil out of the Blight. Although all writers have their own style I believe Brandon Sanderson did a great job of blending his to Robert Jordan’s No one could know the Characters deepest thoughts and tendencies in the Wheel of Time better than Robert Jordan, and some of that insight was missing in the last books, but Brandon Sanderson is a very talented writer of fantasy fiction, and his painstaking effort to keep true to Robert Jordan’s vision is a homage to the late great writer. Jordan was uncertain if he wanted Elayne to have rule over Cairhien before the conference at the Fields of Merrilor and the Last Battle.

I think that the Rand / Dark One storyline highlights the duality that infects human eyes. After the last battle Rand now realizes that the duality is a lie. It is one, though, that humans can't overcome. Sanderson, Brandon. "Tweets Dec 19–21, 2011". brandonsanderson.com. Archived from the original on January 3, 2012 . Retrieved January 2, 2012.

My Book Notes

Simply put, they bring life and rhythm to the book. I cannot read it without imagining the characters in their voices. They see Demandred, who tells them that if he sees any Dreadlords away from the fight against the White Tower forces, he will make them wish he had given them to the Trollocs. Androl thinks what they did was effective, as they know where to find Taim.
