Along the way, Slim pulls the long and short cons, beats women, serves two stints in prison, masterminds a successful jailbreak and generally weaves his way through a treacherous world where the competition is fierce and the rise to the top is strewn with equally dangerous competitors. One attribute that I did not like was the overwhelming amount of footnotes.
