The aforementioned duo are brilliant, but the standout product for me is the L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Pro Longer Lengths Renewing Mask, because it is such a transformative product; the first time I used it I was genuinely in disbelief that one product could make such a difference to my hair, as it felt so smooth and soft, looked almost glass-like with shine and yet there was no greasiness or residue – it’s a very rich product so I tend to just use it once a week, but I absolutely love it and will definitely be repurchasing it after I use up my tub, which is likely to be pretty soon. It would be so easy, at this point, to just give up, let my ends split and comfort myself with the knowledge that there will be haircuts in my future again, hopefully very soon, but there are two issues with this approach: firstly, I actually quite like having long hair and I have managed to keep it in pretty good condition, and secondly, you can’t predict what impact that type of approach will have on the rest of your hair, so a split that affects the last couple of inches of hair could keep splitting right to the very root, so then you’ll end up with a whole head of hair in bad condition, which is definitely not a risk I’m willing to take.
