About this deal

That’s not the whole story, however, as you’ll soon see from the list of the Best PS1 Fighting Games.

Shout-Out: In the N64 version only, the masked enemies in the park are all named after Slasher Movie villains. Later in the Island Lab level, there are hazmat mooks named Monty, Waylon and Grimes. Retrieved 22 November 2020.A sequel, Fighting Force 2, was released for the PlayStation and the Sega Dreamcast with the only playable character being Hawk. It didn't perform too well thanks to the extremely disjointed storyline and being unnecessarily Darker and Edgier. Core Design originally pitched the game to Sega as a potential fourth entry in Sega's Streets of Rage series. Sega declined; according to Core, Sega explained that it had its own plans for continuing the series. [5] Core opted to go ahead with the game as a standalone, multi-platform title, and started work on it. [5] Core Design collaborated with ten coders from EA Japan in making the game. [7] Throwing Your Gun at the Enemy: You can do this with empty or even loaded guns though a hit only takes away a minuscule amount of their health.

Hawk, Mace, and Smasher are Axel, Blaze and Max with different hair (and a shirt for Smasher). Ironically, Hawk and Mace's beta designs (The latter is still present in the game as the boss Jetpac) had the same hair but different clothes, while Smasher resembles Max moreso than his earlier incarnation, Hammer (also still present as the boss Driver).

Loading Screen: Basically just the title of the game with the loading bar underneath. The N64 version's is more unique, displaying either the name of the next level or boss. The gameplay is enjoyable, with a good variety of enemies and levels. The controls are easy to learn and use, and the game can become quite challenging at times. Players control one of four characters as they move through urban and science fiction environments, battling waves of oncoming enemies with weapons including soda cans, knives, cars, and guns. [4] The player can make some choices as to which territory to travel through. [4] Story [ edit ] It's your job to stop Dr. Zenga, who wants to take control of the city. Before you set off, you will have to choose one of four heroes. Each character has its own advantages and disadvantages (eg a character with a greater strength is slow). In addition, each warrior has one powerful special blow, which - unfortunately - exhausts their health. The four characters have various reasons for taking on Dr. Dex Zeng, a criminal mastermind with an army at his command who predicted that the world would end in the year 2000. After New Year's Eve 1999, Dr. Zeng believed that there was an error preventing the apocalypse, so decides to correct it by destroying the world himself. [5] The action starts with a police cordon around Zeng's office skyscraper, moving to such locales as a shopping mall, subway and Coast Guard base before finally ending at the top of Zeng's island headquarters. A sequel, titled Fighting Force 2, was released in 1999 for the PlayStation and Dreamcast. Unlike the first title, Fighting Force 2 focuses on the character of Hawk Manson exclusively, and rewards a more stealthy approach.
