Loads of PROS - Great value. The potential options for combining effects is vast. The build is great, knobs & buttons work easily. I dont use it as a standalone but combine with some analogue pedals, which is a good set up. Still saves plenty of space on pedalboard. However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers.I haven't used any other effects processor so can't directly compare, but the unit has more than surpassed my main reasons for buying it. Lot of fun discovering new sounds, building a library of patches. The GT-1B is designed for bassists on the move. It’s surprisingly lightweight and compact, making it ideal for tight stage setups and situations where you need to travel light. The rugged modern design is easy to slip in the accessory compartment of a bass bag, with no worries of hard edges causing damage to your instrument. Operating the 3-pound unit is accomplished through a series of controls that allow you to press, stomp, and dial in your sound. The trio of knobs located on the upper-middle section of the device allows you to navigate the various, selectable parameters displayed on the LED screen. For simple navigation, the “easy” section on the left side consists of two buttons that organize the effects based on music genre or effects categories, such as clean, crunch, or modulate.

The BOSS GT-1B is a really great piece of kit. Was obsessing with synth pedals but couldn't decide which one and then would require an expression pedal etc. The Boss SY-1 doesn't offer presets. I'm pleased with the GT-1B - many many possibilities for designing patches, built in expression pedal & 99 presets. At BOSS Tone Central, you’ll find tons of free patch collections for playing all types of music with the GT-1. Created by pro guitarists, these patches are dialed-in and ready to use, and make great starting points for advanced players who like to create their own custom sounds. The free BOSS Tone Studio software provides a full-featured editor/librarian for the GT-1, as well as integrated access to all the patch collections at BOSS Tone Central. Maximum Control in a Small Space Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided. For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs. For optimal performance, stay up to date with the current GT-1 system software and BOSS Tone StudioRecorded with Serek Midwestern 2 and using effect’s interface direct into MacBook Pro using GarageBand. When you invest in a Boss product, you know that you're getting a premium grade pedal that has engineered with passion and care - and the GT-1B is no different. Housed in a compact and robust chassis, it's designed to withstand all the trials of life on the road. Boss Tone Central CONS - you have to put some graft to get familiar with the software and best usage. There are instructions for the basic operation, using the buttons/dials on the unit but to get the full hang of the software for assigning parameters within patches, BOSS do not supply much info. There are some useful vids online though and chat on talkbass etc EASY SELECT button, EASY EDIT button, FX1/LIMITER button, OD/DS button, PREAMP button, FX2/MOD button, DELAY button, REVERB button, MEMORY EDIT button, EXIT button, ENTER button, MENU button

At BOSS Tone Central, you’ll find a wide selection of free patch collections for the GT-1B. Programmed by top bassists, these patches are dialed-in and ready to use, and make great starting points for advanced players who like to create their own custom sounds. The free BOSS Tone Studio software provides a full-featured editor/librarian for the GT-1B, as well as integrated access to all the patch collections at BOSS Tone Central. Pro Control in a Compact SpaceYou should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. With the GT-1B’s intuitive interface, it’s simple to build sounds and fine-tune parameters, even if you’re new to multi-effects. Dedicated buttons provide instant editing access to each effect category, which you can adjust straight away via three panel knobs. The buttons also function as on/off switches, and feature status indicators that let you see which categories are enabled at a glance. The GT-1 was designed for musicians on the move. It’s surprisingly lightweight and compact, yet still delivers the rugged durability that BOSS is famous for. The modern design is easy to slip in and out of a guitar bag’s accessory compartment, with no worries of hard edges causing damage to your axe. AC or battery power provides flexibility for any performing situation, and up to seven hours of battery life is available for street performing and other mobile gigs. Easy Patch Selection and Sound Creation I mostly play jazz these days so I am usually running clean with no effects. But I would like to have the option, and I never wanted to spend a ton of money. Ironically, I ended up wasting a lot more money on cheap, crappy individual pedals that were noisy or just plain bad, and that I ended up never using!
