About this deal

Spurs had been worth far more than their one-goal half-time lead. Marco Silva (who still hasn't beaten Spurs in 8 attempts as manager) made two half-time changes, one of which was Jimenez for the ineffectual former Spur Carlos Vinicius. On the pitch Spurs achieved their one remaining footballing objective for the season (to finish runners-up to Chelsea) by beating Jose Mourinho's Manchester United, thanks to fine goals by Victor Wanyama and Harry Kane. After the game, following what was essentially a good natured pitch invasion, Spurs gave their 118 year old home as fine a send off as you could wish for. There was a film introduced by "Spurs fan" Sir Kenneth Branagh, before a parade of many playing legends from the Double season onward. A choir, band and tenor gave us a haunting, then rousing rendition of "Mine eyes have seen the Glory", and "Glory, Glory Allejuhah" to ensure there was hardly a dry eye in the house. I certainly shed a tear or two today. It was emotional.......... Whether Spurs would be able to secure the winger on a permanent or loan basis remains to be seen, but I understand that a fee of around ?5 million euros has been proposed.? ......more..........

Spurs Odyssey Message Board

There were 43 years and 308 days between the ages of Tottenham Hotspur's Ryan Mason and Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson when they met on the touchline in our home game in May, the biggest gap between two managers facing off in Premier League history.Every Spurs match is covered with excellent threads, which feature images and stats from previous games. There is so much to enjoy about the message board which also has an off-topic section where non-football matters are discussed. Bren Gun Johnson can be Tottenham's hidden weapon - Norman Giller's 450th article for Spurs Odyssey Until Monday, when he scored our second goal, all seven of James Maddison's goal involvements for Tottenham in the Premier League this season had been away, scoring twice and providing five assists. For all their efforts there would be no breakthrough for Scott Parker’s side and their relegation was confirmed. Meanwhile, Burnley (confirming their fifth consecutive Premier League season) climbed to 14th place. West Brom finally had their relegation confirmed with this defeat, which also gave Sam Allardyce his unenviable first Premier League relegation as a manager. “The Baggies” have now been relegated from the Premier League as many times as Norwich, who will return as Championship winners.

Our range of football replica shirts covers the Premiership, Championship, Champions League, European, World Cup and International shirts. With Manchester City all but confirmed as Champions, the only issues left to be decided are the final Champions League and lesser European qualifiers. One or more of those matters could yet go to the last day of the season. Andy Madley is our match referee for the first time this season and the fifth time in all. Last season we saw him three times, losing two and winning just one game. That win was the 1-0 home win against Manchester City. The last time Mr. Madley refereed Crystal Palace was when they lost 3-0 at home on Boxing Day to Fulham. Palace had two players sent off that day. Spurs Odyssey was represented at the service held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dover to dedicate the headstone placed at the grave of John Ripsher, the very first President of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

Spurs Odyssey Premier League Match Report - Spurs v Fulham

Spurs recent Worthington Cup clash with Torquay evoked memories of the late Cyril Knowles, who graced White Hart lane for so many years, but who also had a spell at Torquay as manager before his tragic and early passing in 1991. Villa were unchanged after their win against Everton. Dean Henderson was in goal for a strong United team. De Gea had played in the midweek Europa League semi-final which United won on aggregate against Mourinho's next assignment Roma. United started strongly and both Shaw and Pogba had shots saved by Martinez inside the first 6 minutes. Fred also had a shot on target but hit straight at the keeper in the early phase. Villa won a couple of corners, but Henderson had yet to be stretched. Ray Lo went to Brisbane Road last night and reports exclusively for Spurs Odyssey on a game where Spurs had theierr one goal lead snatched away in the closing stages.... ......more........ This was a do or die night really for a Fulham side who started the game 9 points behind Burnley, who were fourth from bottom. The game was preceded by silence for former Fulham midfielder Alan Slough who recently passed away. Slough was a member of the 1975 Fulham team which reached the FA Cup Final. That side included Bobby Moore and Alan Mullery.

When Kane and Son Heung-min found the net in Spurs' 4-0 win at Palace, it was the competition-high 34th time they'd both scored in a match, overtaking Liverpool's Salah and Sadio Mane (33). Harry and "Sonny" added to their record, scoring together in two more Premier League games last season.

Spurs Odyssey - Home Page

December has been a month of tremendous entertainment for Spurs fans; a month of noticeable progress for the team; and a month of triumph over several cases of adversity for Juande Ramos and his staff. Spurs - WWDWWW Burnley 2-5 Spurs Spurs 2-1 Sheff Utd Arsenal 2-2 Spurs Spurs 2-1 Liverpool Luton 0-1 Spurs Spurs 2-0 Fulham Just before the first half ended, Vardy tried to lift a shot over Dubravka, but the keeper reached high and saved. For all Ramos’s tactical nous and boldness, and despite a decent second half performance by the away side, Spurs ultimately succumbed to two goals by Villa defenders, both from set pieces, thus destroying any New Year’s resolution that Spurs might have had to defend more effectively. The Villa defence had the better of the day, because apart from scoring, they also quelled any potential threat from Dimitar Berbatov, subject of course to intense transfer speculation.......... More........ Hojbjerg got the first of only two yellow cards on the night when he unfairly brought a charge by Willian to a halt. Spurs' first goal soon followed after a Fulham error and a sharp ball forward to Richarlison on the left. Fulham had been caught unawares and Son took Richarlison's pass, turning swiftly to his right before unleashing an unstoppable right-footer. It was Son's seventh goal of the season and his fiftieth in our new stadium. Remember "Sonny" had scored our first senior goal in the stadium (against Crystal Palace) in April 2019.Villa were under pressure early in the second half and referee Chris Kavanagh pointed to the spot when Pogba fell under the challenges of Douglas Luiz. You know who (Bruno Fernandes) stepped up and skipped before scoring to the left of Martinez who had gone the wrong way. (52 mins) It was 2-1 to United four minutes later when Wan-Bissaka passed inside to Greenwood, who turned Tyrone Mings before scoring inside the keeper's left post. Spurs Odyssey has heard the sad news of the passing of yet another legend of the 1950-51 Championship-winning side. The goalkeeper from that era, Ted Ditchburn, passed away yesterday (26th December, 2005) at the great age of 84, and joins the likes of Ramsey, Nicholson, Duquemin and Burgess in the great stadium in the sky. Harry Maguire tried to carry on after treatment when he collided with El Ghazi, but he had to be replaced by Bailly. Maguire ended a run of 71 consecutive Premier League matches for Manchester United in which he completed 90 minutes. Villa tried to take advantage of the disruption caused in the United defence without success. Cavani made it 3-1 in the 87th minute when Rashford crossed from the right and the Uruguayan glanced a neat header across Martinez into the far corner. Thanks to all who take the time to comment when completing the post-match surveys. I always read your contributions.
