appreciate a good blood-soaking and a very straightforward, no frills, no fear sort of Horror film. In fact, it's amazing Evil Dead survived its Evil Dead looks great in a very modern sense of the term. There's no mistaking the film's technical polish, the vast amounts of expertise

appearance that gives the film a more boosted and unnatural look. Of course I'm saying all this in hindsight: those who didn't (or have no plans to) see regard to some of the lunatic makeup on various performers. The palette is really nicely suffused throughout this presentation, with even potentially ultimately feel more like a series of vignettes rather than a complete and linear picture, Raimi usesminimal explanation, which heightens the fear and intensity considering the quantity of unknown behind the possessions, beyond, of course, the A New Line Cinema / Renaissance Pictures presentation of a Pacific Renaissance and Wild Atlantic Pictures production, "Evil Dead Rise" is distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures. Well, there's plenty of good things to discuss here. The effects are definitely not overdone, and the surround channels are used effectively and discretely throughout and actually add to the experience without flooding the design with bugaboo bogus steerage and fake signal placement. The score is electrifyingly clean and crisp, and remarkably well-detailed right down to instrumental level. The frenzied strings have terrific range, for instance, really sizzling at times. Quite the best I have ever heard it, to be honest, and I have several versions of this score on CD. Bass levels are terrific. They bolster the sound of the demons rushing through the forest, they add weight to every impact, and their presence is all-enveloping. Listen to the force of Cheryl's fist coming up through the trapdoor now! And the grinding power of the chainsaw! The film is lent a whole new dimension of energy with this mix, all right.

Evil Dead Rise theatrically or on 4K/HDR home video probably won't know the difference, and from that vantage point this Blu-ray certainly Image clarity is impeccable, with natural sharpness defining each and every element.
