I'm sorry Lisa Thompson but what kind of a kid would say that? How sad do they have to be to say something like that? The story really gets going when our main man Maxwell outdoes himself by ruining a huge school event which is being televised. With nowhere else to turn he heads to Reg's house where he wishes he'd never been born. Maxwell's wish comes true... in a way: he's still alive and so are all the people in his life, but none of them know him and their lives are very different.

Thank you! I loved writing the scene just after Maxwell is unknowingly ‘erased’. He heads home and notices the subtle changes around him – the headless, plastic flamingo that he broke in a neighbour’s garden now has a head, the front gate he broke five years ago is now fixed… It was so rewarding to gently create this strange, changed world around him.Accidentally, he finds himself erased from his life while looking through some mysterious contents in a cabinet at a neighbour's house. He now misses his old life and repents all the mistakes. Will Maxwell ever be able to find his way out of this strange problem, forms the main plot of the story. This is one of my top 20 favourite books. It's a warm story about the meaning of life and what it would be without you. It makes me feel very unique and special. My favourite character, by far, was Reg, the neighbour. Reg is so forgetful, even on a good day! Maxwell constantly has to remind him who he is. And so, he’s the perfect guy for the non-existent Maxwell to crash with. The best part is how Reg’s forgetfulness plays into the plot in other ways! Lovely book. You may not be happy with your life but that doesn’t mean another life will be better. A life without you in it may be a poorer place for others.

Maxwell is a bit of a trouble maker. He is not bad but he seems to get into trouble, of being naughty but not in a mean way.I really enjoyed this book because i thought it was very funny. This is because the main character Maxwell is going round while he has been erased telling everyone their dark secrets they have not told anyone else but they can't remember ever knowing him. However,it was also a sad book since later on in the book one of the characters(Reg) who has severe memory loss lets Maxwell stay with him and he reveals that he erased himself after his wife Emily died of an uncureable illness. My favourite character was Reg who used to be Maxwell's elderly neighbour because he is kind, owns lots of random objects and he understands how Maxwell feels.I would recommend this to someone who wants a funny and medium-level read. It's a very interesting book and about how a person can change and try to be better and care about those around them This book is excellent reading for anyone but I can really imagine it helping any child who might have chosen the wrong path and desperately wants to make amends but doesn’t know how. It shows that we ALL have good and bad points and that we can make amends when we mess up. Maxwell’s future at the end of the book isn’t a complete happy ending but it’s happy enough to reassure any reader that life carries on and that everyone can make a difference. It’s an interesting concept to look at how life might be if you never existed and the experience helps Maxwell see that, as well as his naughty side, he has good qualities that do make a difference to people’s lives. He realises that, without him, some of those he knows would have less rich, happy lives. He can do good things, and often does, when he’s not acting self-destructively, such as providing his elderly, forgetful neighbour with much-appreciated company and saving Monster, who was injured and abandoned when Maxwell first found him.

Boy Underwater is a heartbreaking story about family, friends and secrets. And it’s very, very funny. He has a dog that he has saved named Monster. He has an older sister Bex who is a nerd. He has a best friend called Charlie but he is not really that nice to him. Basic plot: Maxwell has a habit of getting in trouble… for everything. And when he makes a wish that he no longer existed, poof! his wish comes true. Now, nobody knows who he is. Not his father or mother. Not his sister or best friend. And suddenly, he realizes that, if he never existed, then his beloved dog wouldn’t exist either… because it was Maxwell who had saved the dog from certain death. Now, all Maxwell wants is to exist again, and he’s on a mission to figure out how to make that happen.

This is an emotional, funny and captivating story with interesting but flawed characters and an intriguing central plot. Some of the scenes involving Reg and his memory loss were quite upsetting to read. Were they difficult to write? I really enjoyed this book and it was really moving. The moral of the story is about loving and appreciating your family (even if your sibling/s are annoying!)Dietro ad una divertente e abbastanza quotidiana commedia, i messaggi importanti sono molteplici che spingono a riflettere su tutto ciò che ci circonda. My mum is up there somewhere. She's waiting -- I can feel it. I just have to find her in time, that's all ... Because when I do, I'll know the truth about who stole her. ' So he was transport to the world when he was not even born. No one knows him. He got a hard re-set to the world.
