Parts of the book left me impatient for something significant to happen but instead of building up expectation, I got bored. The book explores two sides of the spectrum; working class and the rich and famous upper class but in an interesting way pushes the two together. Best of all, it features allusions to the changeling myth, the idea that fairies could steal a baby away, leaving behind an altered or possibly evil simulacrum in its place.

It’s a creative answer to the problem, but left me feeling like I was in one of those awkward conversations where two people are talking about two different things without realizing that they’re not on the same page. I had a huge soft spot for Jo Harper, there was something very warming and maternal about this woman, despite her external presentation. She sure does like the name star and diamond, because I think the names were mentioned very briefly for a short second. Destiny and sunset are both excited by this prospect as sunset(the rich one) has a famous dad singer who welcomes destiny.If there is a sequel to this book, I hope it addresses the neglect and abuse that these kids suffer from.

Destiny lives with her mum on a rundown council estate and the only luck she has ever really had is her mum inheriting money from a former patient. An immensely readable novel which handles serious issues – fractured families, the nature of celebrity – with the lightest of touches. It felt like a quick read, and looking back on it I sometimes wonder what even happened in the book. I truly love this book and would recommend it to anyone who loves an exciting, dramatic and a bit of a sad book!

Melanie Golding pitched this story perfectly, for me it was just the right level of unnerving, sinister and creepy. Today her popular books for children have sold millions of copies and have been translated into more than thirty languages. The doctors seem eager to medicate Lauren into a stupor and the police just don’t want the expense of spending more time on the case than needed. I am not great at horror myself (I can only dabble), so I can’t imagine how scary this one is to have creeped you out!

If you’ve ever read Grimm’s Fairy Tales, you know that the original stories are extremely dark and bear little resemblance to their popular revisions. Little darlings is definitely one of my favourite books the only thing I would change about it was the way it went like it was all about destiny in the first chapter and all about sunset in the second and then all about destiny in the third chapter and about sunset in the fourth it kinda confused me at the start but now it's definitely one of my favourites! I picked this book up on a whim, I’d heard good things about it and after enjoying I See You so much, I wanted another quick thriller to read. The dad leaves but a couple weeks later comes back and takes the kids out for the day with his new girlfriend. But she knows what she saw: that night, in her hospital room, a woman tried to take her babies and replace them with her own.

Similarly, Detective Harper's challenge to pursue her gut instincts that contradict her boss's rules and plans makes her another compelling character that I appreciated following. She has written over 100 books and is the creator of characters such as Tracy Beaker and Hetty Feather. Claudia because she looked after Sunset and Sunset’s sibilings when Suzy was in shock and when Suzy was meant to be looking after her own kids.
