About this deal
it would have been so much nicer had they made it more functional, more flattering, and more stylish. I bought my first one (series one Skyler) in 2019 and was blown absolutely out of the water by the sheer number of pieces in her outfit, the fact that she came with -socks- and a pants hanger, and I found her face adorable and her hair lovely.
Some of the Rainbow High shoes are really tight and hard to remove (I broke Ruby Anderson's shoe when I was trying to get it off. Jett's long hair and extra accessories are sure to keep the little ones entertained for a while, and her pretty design will make her an instant favourite. Jett has gorgeous eyes, long eyelashes and beautiful, brushable, half black and half multicolored hair. Value for money is incredible, the level of detail is just amazing, embroidered rather that iron on patterns, tiny buckles etc.
They're nice little boxes and I presume would be useful if you had the closet or whatever and wanted more cases for accessories. Jett is back at Rainbow High after a quarter abroad interning with a few major textile makers in East Asia, and she has learned a lot. I will preface this by saying I can understand people being annoyed with the quality control gaffs that do happen and I don't see the point in Jett's ankle articulation (though it is less flimsy than Made to Move Barbie's) among one or two other minor things.
This form could legitimately be used to tailor a new Rainbow High dress--if only the stand was more substantial. So far it's going really well, and I will share all details if the final product is as good as I think it will be!
You have to yank them off to recycle the box (and they fall off pretty easily anyway) and they do nothing to protect the box. The third problem with this dress is that it's so tight through the legs that Jett can barely move when she's wearing it. Outfit 1 is a screen printed black cropped hooded sweater, a white denim jacket, fitted brocade black skirt and sheer stretch tights and finished with black stretch gloves. This one-of-a-kind fashion doll has half a head of long jet black hair, while the other half is the colour of the rainbow. I'm certain I don't want any RH, but I love seeing them in detail anyway and their clothing has a lot of effort put into it.
Her hair is styled with a top knot which i'm informed means she's rooted in such a way that there's a bit of a thin bald patch at the top of her head.Unlike the other dolls in the series, Jett Dawson arrives with a spectacular gown and her year of release is etched into the tailor’s dummy.
It's not ankle articulation, but it seems like a kind of cool feature to me, given that I've seen a lot of collector level dolls come with interchangeable hands/feet/chestplates for customization and posing purposes. Jett comes with the essentials you would expect of a fashion major - a mini sewing machine with moveable pieces like a spin dial and a needle that moves up and down plus a mannequin that rolls around and to measure fabric, there's a mini measuring tape. I put in many hours on my own, paid for a migration plugin, and then eventually caved and asked for professional help. The second is a Breath-Taking “Art of Fashion” Designer Brocade Red Silk Mermaid Style Gown with Metallic Silver and Black graffiti elements woven into the fabric with added sparkle touches.
In her main outfit, Jett wears a black and white hoodie printed all over with initials of RH with a circular disk on the center written "RAINBOW" around it, layered with a white belted denim jacket accented with black lines. The second outfit is a Breath-Taking “Art of Fashion” Designer dress-form wrapped in fabric commemorating 2021, the year of release. Her style appears to be inspired by Moschino's Spring 2019 Ready-to-Wear collection, emphasizing "magic marker squiggles and dots". It's good to know I'm not the only one who thinks her second outfit clashes horribly with her colors.
