Great review! I think it's nice that the dual molded dragon heads in this set and Jay's Golden Dragon Motorbike appear unprinted, since the versions of that head style in Lloyd's Golden Ultra Dragon are both printed with eye patterns. Having both options is always nice, especially if you wanted to use these dual-molded heads as lower jaws or other decorative details where eye prints would be less appealing. Dual-moulded blades extend from the wings, reaching almost 30cm across. Once again, they are a common feature among NINJAGO aircraft, although their position here appears unusual. The set description identifies the resemblance between the bladed wings and a shuriken, which seems appropriate, given Zane's association with the Shuriken of Ice. With the set in hand, I would say that the price, if slightly overpriced, is for the most part justified. There is obviously the excellent minifigure selection, and the functioning of the jet also works very nice although the "ninja star" wing formation is a little strange. The wings are mirrored builds. The assembly here isn’t too complex, and the motion is sooth and unlikely to jam up. With the vehicle being tied to Zane, it’s no surprise he’s included in the set. Here he is wearing what’s known as his Golden Robes. This is basically the standard outfit for the ninja in the Crystalized season. The best of the outfit is white, but it features a large amount of gold detailing, including a mainly gold-coloured hood. Zane is joined by Cole in his Golden Dragon form. Apart from the torso, Golden Dragon Cole is mostly constructed of transparent pieces, these go especially well with the print detail on the torso, which also flows on the legs. The dragon-like hood and wings complete the look. The wings are very disappointing on Cole. They aren’t anything like the promotional images and they have very little transparent orange on them. The minifigures look as outstanding as ever in my opinion, and the Golden Dragon variants of the ninja stand out as particularly cool and unique! That said, I'm a little bummed that the original four ninja get SO many new minifigure designs this wave, yet there's only one for my favorite of the main characters, Nya. :(

The dual-molded large blades in this set are great too, and it's great to be getting them in three different color variants this year. Between them and the large crystal blades from some of the villain sets, there's a plethora of large-scale weapons this year to appeal to a Bionicle fan like me. From the rear, you get a row of exposed hollow studs that make for a good jet array. The Mixel ball joints that connect this assembly to the main jet don’t look out of place, either. The Crystal King's generals each feature matching uniforms, including pearl dark grey armour and purple highlights. Pink crystalline details visible across the chest are also shared with the Vengestone army, matching the trans-pink shoulder armour. This component features superb jagged shapes, again present throughout the Crystal King's forces. Wedge Sloped 4 x 4 Triple with 3 Ridges on Slope in Pearl Gold (6376233 | 86148) - in 4 other 2022 Ninjago releases The General Vangelis fig here is not my favorite of the crystal generals—his Skull Sorcerer mask (unchanged from its initial appearance) covers up the shiny pink eyes all of the generals have, and I sort of wish he still had a skirt/cloak like in his original design instead of standard legs. But the golden dragon ninja are all fantastic—it's pretty amazing that in this wave alone, all four original ninja get not one, not two, but three variants (colored suits, golden armor, and glowy golden dragon versions). And the golden dragon versions specifically might be some of the coolest "powered up" versions of the ninja we've had yet (which is saying something, considering how much I've loved the NRG/Airjitzu/similar variants in the past).The pattern on Zane's waist and shoulder armour is effective too, resembling studded leather. Zane's separate shoulder armour and sheath element also complements this minifigure, while his pearl silver head remains unchanged from part appearances. I dislike the angry expression, which seems ill-suited to Zane, but the mechanical detailing is perfect. However, here in Australia, we have only this set and 71774 Lloyd's Golden Ultra Dragon, and the rest will be released in August. i wish the 10 year golden zane came with this mask to fit better the design of the rest. Same for Lloyd's mask and Wu's head (although the pieces needed to "fix" those already existed)" NINJAGO toys transport kids into a thrilling world of fantasy action where they can team up with Cole, Kai, Nya and all the ninja crew to take on a dangerous cast of villains and play out adventures with an extensive collection of mechs, cars, dragons and temples. We’ve had a bike, we’ve had a car-type thing so now it’s time to take the sky with a jet. Zane’s Golden Dragon Jet is another of the new sets to be infused with the power of the dragons. It’s also one of the smaller sets in the wave, as well as featuring another of the ninja in a Golden Dragon Suit and the return of a villain from NINJAGO past. General Vangelis wields two matching accessories, both made from Vengestone. The bigger blade is interesting because there is room to place another accessory, such as the pearl gold Scythe of Quakes. The blending of pearl gold and trans-pink is not entirely successful, but the opportunity for easy customisation is certainly appreciated. Flying vehicles are a little less common apart from the odd helicopter. So a jet is something a little unique. It’s built-in two sections but not so it can be split apart but to help with the overall shape of the jet. It reminds me a little of the X-Jet used by the X-Men. With the front cab section being connected to the rest of the jet via a couple of ball joints, it slopes at a slight angle.Honestly I thought it was cool that the anniversary ninja minifigs were based on different variants of their costumes — and in most cases, specifically on ones from seasons they had played a major role in. Kai and Zane's anniversary costumes were based on the Fire and Ice chapters of "Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu", Jay's on "Prime Empire", Cole's on "Master of the Mountain", Lloyd's on "The Island", and Nya's on "Seabound". It’s disappointing that the story didn’t also give us a dark blue Nya Golden Dragon. I suppose she didget a very high-end “dragon type” in 71754 Water Dragon.
