About this deal

That’s just one of the many adjectives I can use to describe this amazing book that I adore so much! This book contains teenage angst, lots of teenage drama and dumb teenagers. In simple words, this book was all about "the idiocy of the teenagers." But well, I've been there before. I've been an idiot once, twice, or maybe countless times. Not to be a hypocrite, I completely understood some of the things they did. And then, insert the drama between their families, friends, pyscopath exes. It was just crazy and I truly lived for it. Being able to relate with the characters is very important for me. I could relate with Xavier and his loyalty for his undeserving parents. And I could relate with Aveena for understanding Xavier that family always comes first above everything.

The buts for me are few. So tell me, and maybe it’s just me, are my expectations too high when a title is self-explanatory? The enemies to lovers theme had like a 2 to 5 minutes life span. This was a very good story for me, but it was not what I got from the title. This was not an Enemies to Lovers book. La historia de amor es EXCELENTE. Hay emociones de angustia, mucha anticipación, el misterio. Zac me causó demasiadas sensaciones, y me sorprendió por completo.

Xavier he carries burdens he shouldn’t, he keeps secrets that aren’t is and doesn’t know what to do with. He wants to keep his family together but he is slowly losing himself in the process. He wasn’t necessarily a badboy but he sure starts making choices like one. Was I entertained? Yes. Did I like the story? Yes with a few buts. Would I read the other books in the series? Yes, but still undecided on book 2 of Finn and Dia, let’s see.

On the other hand, she's ready to do anything for those she loves including losing her dreams just to protect them. dia and finn. the way these two have my heart 110%. i love love LOVE their dynamic so freaking much. finn, the popular bad boy who acts like he doesn’t care about anything. expect for her 🥰. and dia! the baddest out. i adored her kindness yet sassy personality. these two are everything. seriously my favorite couple in the easton high series. their banter was chefs kiss! their hate/love relationship was to die for. and their falling in love made me swoon. Again, I’m not a YA reader but I will be reading this series. I hope Eliah continues to bring the same passion, steam and emotions that Dear Love I Hate You brought. While the characters may be young, she brought just the perfect amount of a bit too much drama without crossing the line into the ridiculous. It does deal with some serious issues like suicide and adultery but it was done in a way that was honest, raw & real. It showed the tragic effects on those left behind and if you love angst & books that destroy you emotionally, then this is the book to tear your heart to shreds.I enjoyed Xav’s and Vee’s build up and sexual chemistry once it exploded. It wasn’t as intense but still very satisfactory for me. I would even say I would have liked a bit more (that’s the selfish inner slut in me speaking).

I really liked the different dynamics between Vee and Xavier. Their real life interactions where they showed tiny bits of vulnerability and their pen pal personas were they made each other laugh but also totally exposed themselves. Their connection was deep and heartfelt, and I enjoyed the way in which Greenwood develops their romance. I feel like my love for Xav drops after this, he was all “bark but no bite”? he kept saying how much he loved her and how he would do anything for and how she is the single most important thing in his life but he does absolutely nothing to prove it. The story: Vee hates Xavier. They used to hang out as kids because their moms used to be friends, and Xavier used to bully Vee. That was up until they were 8 years old when he started going to a different school. He returned for high school, but they haven’t talked since then. Their last interaction was when they were 8 and he pushed her on the playground. Aveena is beautiful, crazy smart, sassy in her own right and too kind for her own good. She has a complicated life for an 18 year old, feeling like Cinderella in her own house at times. I could relate a lot with her in many of her thoughts and I loved her personality! One angry hate letter, an evacuation and a lost letter later and she has secured herself an arrogant, frustrating and argumentative pen pal! At first she is enraged that someone had the balls to not only reply to a letter than wasn’t meant to be seen but to correct her spelling and give her a few unwanted facts. As time goes by she can’t get enough, looks forward to receiving them.. will it have a happy ending? Secrets shared with a stranger can’t be too dangerous can it?

Customer reviews

This is Eliah’s best work to date! She really outdid herself with this one! Dear love, i hate you is something really else. It wasn’t your cliche bad boy-good girl books but it had its moments too! La pareja principal la forman Love y Zac. ¡Qué personajes tan completos! Interesantes en lo individual y cómo pareja, con personalidad realista y con una química increíble.

Okay I need to ask. Do girls really cry all the time? Because that seems to be the trend in my recent reads. The way the story began is not new to me, I have already read books that have as their basis precisely this exchange of anonymous messages. The author, however, did a great job of capturing my interest. I was captivated by the relationship between Vee and Xavier, a little less so what surrounds it.

El argumento es original. Tiene líneas que hacen reír en voz alta y tiene momentos que parten el corazón. Vaivén de emociones que se disfruta. He is handsome, charming, troubled, his sense of humour and sarcasm-perfect! I couldn’t help but love him. The friendship group is one you want more from. The kind where you can’t wait to read the stories that shaped their characters. Lacey is definitely one to watch, and Theo, I want his story!! The note aspect of this story really pulled me in. Aveena and Xavier connecting or reconnecting through anonymous notes truly added a level of intimacy to their relationship. Their guards were down and they shared their deepest secrets with each other. When the inevitable happens, and they found out who the other one is, it only heightens their relationship.
