About this deal

At the time Hiccup is in exile, his tribe faces real danger. He goes on an adventure to find the one thing that can save them: the Dragon’s Jewel. As it turns out, the Dragon’s Jewel is found inside the stomach of a dragon, along with a very close person. Will he be up to the challenge? How to Betray a Dragon’s Hero (2013) I came up with a fourth reason, haha. You have to read more of this overlong review of a book series that's still probably only being bought because people loved the movie so much (that's me being a hypocrite, la di da da...) WORTH IT. Oh, David Tennant. I love him as Doctor Who, of course, but now I got to hear him go full on Scottish, and I loved it. He's a delightful narrator, just as you would expect. He even did a voice that was rather reminiscent of Jeremy Irons for the giant, man-eating dragon. I just sort of tried to pay as little attention as possible to the story and to soak in the accents. Dragons: Reading Champion Collection – 6 Books". Book People. Archived from the original on 20 September 2020 . Retrieved 4 August 2019. The book is good fun but a touch too silly for there to be any real emotional connection with the characters - always a minus for me. It has some clever bits, some funny bits, and Celyn and me certainly didn't waste our time reading it. A solid 3* for fun. I would rate the film more highly, and that's a rarity for me.The Romans succeed in kidnapping Toothless but the boys manage to escape, they were kidnapped later though. Alvin the Treacherous imprisons the boys with Toothless on board the Roman ship. Will the boys and Toothless escape from the Romans? Fishlegs (in books 1–12) is Hiccup's best friend and supporting character in a number of books who is allergic to reptiles. He has a squint, asthma, his pet is the only vegetarian dragon on the planet, and he is seen as a wimp, but he has shown himself to be quite cunning when he needs to be. He is also fond of poetry and wants to be a bard in later books. He is not a Hooligan by blood but an orphan who washed up on Berk's shores as an infant, his parentage being a mystery to him until the identities of his mother and father were revealed to him in the tenth and twelfth books respectively. At the end of the final book, he founds his own tribe, the No-Names, and becomes a bard. This is a kids series and it's the story of Hiccup and his dragon Toothless. I'm a keen dragon-fan, and I particularly like the charm of this series for the relationship the Vikings have with their Dragon counter-parts. In this story (the first) we follow Hiccup and his other friends as they have to first find their Dragons and then train them... As much as I hate to admit it, the changes made to the story really do affect the likability. I can guarantee you all that I would not have an emotional attachment to How to Train Your Dragon without the things that they changed in the process of adapting it. Most likely, if I'd even read the book, I would have thought it was decent for young readers--it is generally a pretty good book--but I never would have cared much more than that. As it stands, I really have no interest whatsoever in reading the rest of the books in this series.

Patience, Innocence and Arrogance (in books 10–12) is a triple-headed Deadly Shadow dragon. He can camouflage. He is an Air dragon. He was Termagant's (Fishlegs' mother's) riding dragon, and he swore to look after Fishlegs when he was a baby and set out to sea. The two are reunited in book 10 and he officially becomes Fishlegs's dragon. The three heads have individual personalities. I think a young child would find the disgusting bits disgusting and the funny bits funny and, whilst I'm well aware I am not the intended market, I don't think it's the snappiest thing ever written. It features nothing particularly astounding or even mediocre, it just flows along in it's own little world. Which is fine, maybe, for kids. Kids who don't really read that much and probably liked the film. And I'm not saying that the book was bad. The world-building is amazing, the characters are fun and relatable, and the story is pretty decent. But I never would have loved it on its own. And, yeah, when compared to the movie it doesn't even really stand a chance. rescuing his fellow inhabitants of the isle of Berk from a very large dragon indeed. I'm glad Cressida had the decency to note at the beginning of the book that this has no relation to real-life history because it really doesn't. It was a little difficult to assimilate this at first, as every little thing we think we know about Vikings but is wrong is right here in this book. Horns on helmets and that kind of thing. Horrorcow (in books 1–3, 5, 7, 9, 12) is Fishlegs's hunting dragon of the Basic Brown species. She is named 'Horror' for effect and 'Cow' because she is not dangerous and sleeps a lot. Fishlegs suspects she is a vegetarian. She is three times the size of Toothless and is his best dragon friend. She spends much of the series clinging in fright to Fishlegs' head. When she climbs down from Fishleg's head during Book 9, she is not mentioned again until the end of the final book, explaining that she hated the violence of the war and so hid underground until it was all over. Hiccup is hated in the village and is known to be weak and indecisive. He wanted to try to kill a dragon to improve his reputation among the Vikings. He was able to catch a small dragon, whom he names Toothless, and he started training it in his own way. Hiccup and his dragon Toothless come out as the heroes of this Viking adventure. How to be a Pirate (2004)Stormfly (in books 6–12) is Camicazi’s dragon. She’s a Mood-Dragon which means that her color changes depending on her mood. The humour in this book is outstanding, love the creation of the world of Berk, and the way the author brings to life this hostile, alarming terrain. The characters are hilarious, their names alone had my boys laughing - and the illustrations perfectly complement the plot.

The How to Train your Dragon books are a set of 12 dragon books written for children by the British author Cressida Cowell. Old Wrinkly (in books 1–5, 7–9, 11, 12), is Valhallarama's father and Hiccup's grandfather. Old Wrinkly is the soothsayer and doctor of the Hairy Hooligans tribe and only trusted thinker of the Tribe. Between the beginning of Book 9 and the end of Book 11, it is unknown what came of him. He appears in the twelfth and final book. Toothless (in books 1–12) is Hiccup's hunting-dragon who appears in all the story books. He appears to be a green Common-or-Garden Dragon, although Fishlegs spread a false story that he is a near extinct, more vicious relative of the Monstrous Nightmare breed called the Toothless Daydream and possibly the offspring of the mighty dragon ruler King Daggerfangs. He is one of the King's Lost Things. In book 11, it is revealed he is a young Seadragonus Giganticus Maximus. The Bog-Burglars and the Hairy Hooligans are invited to join the Murderous Tribe in a friendly swimming race. The winner is granted a single request by the three chiefs of the tribes. During the race Hiccup, Fishlegs, and Camicazi are captured by Raptortongues on their ship. Can they escape? How to Break a Dragon’s Heart (2009)Hehe, me again. Well of course. So the second movie is out. I have to say, although it was amazing, I'm pretty sure I prefer the first movie better. The first film's poignant moments were treated with more subtlety, and it came off as an overall very charming film without really trying too hard. It's like the directors were so scared of tarnishing its reputation that they decided to take everything that was good about the first film and crank it up to overblown levels of 'epicness', without really paying it the amount of attention it deserved so that all these conflicting elements - comedy, drama, action, cutsey-ness - flowed easily from scene to scene. I feel like I should update this review, given the amount of likes it's getting, and plus because the above review looks pretty mediocre to me now. Also, since then, I've read (and reread) the rest of the Hiccup books as well. Actually, this will be more like a list of reasons why you should read these books rather than an actual review of this one. Grimbeard the Ghastly, O Hear His Name and Tremble, Ugh. Ugh. Chief of the Hooligan Tribe and King of the Wilderwest Thuggory the Meathead (in books 1, 9–12) is Mogadon's son, and very like Snotlout. Although he is large, muscular, well-respected and has a huge silver Monstrous Nightmare dragon called Killer, he stands up for Hiccup and works with him in the first book. Later, in Book 10, he becomes the first member of Hiccup's Company of the Dragonmark (excluding Valhallarama who founded it). keadaan jadi kacow ketika si jail toothles memancing perkelahian yang menyebabkan para naga2 peliharaan anak2 ini seperti fireworm, seaslug, killer, brightclaw, alligatiger saling berkelahi sehingga anak2 ini harus dihukum. tetapi keadaan jadi genting karena ditemukannya dua ekor naga raksasa segede gaban dari jenis lautus gigantismus maksimus. ada adegan yang bikin gw guling2 yaitu ketika gober dan 400 orang viking dengan sotoynya berusaha mengusir naga2 raksasa tsb (gagal total tentu saja) dan pada akhirnya anak2 ini bersatu untuk "mengadu domba" kedua naga raksasa tersebut dengan "rencana busuk yang cerdas." hahahaha. berhasilkah rencana busuk yang cerdas" mereka? baca aja deh. oiya, ilustrasi dibuku ini juga bikin hahahihi. denger2 sih dreamworks lagi menggarap proyek animasi buat buku ini, dah kelar blom ya? musti nonton nih filmnya.
