Several weeks later, I can say that this little thing is one of the most synesthetic that I know, requiring images, textures, and even hearing. I definitely see a strong woman, sprayed with L'Air while walking her baby in the park in a European autumn in Prague, why in Prague, because it has a sleepy and smoky experience like the beautiful city, a gorgeous capital that is immersed in a powerful but mysterious scent of history. Translating into 'the mood of the times', L'Air du Temps is presented in a unique bottle crowned with crystal doves to represent peace and liberty.

Spicy clove/carnation bouquet with a bit of honeyed white florals and fruit to sweeten it up and add complexity. The notes I detected - lilac, lily, iris, faint violet, very dry patchouli, benzoin and bergamot- were very well blended together, but the result was not a good match. i largely agree with her — it's mostly a well-done clean powdery-soapy accord, with a lovely orris-iris butteriness, but almost no lasting power. At first spray, it's very light and clean and almost a white musky shower scent, but after a few minutes, when I put my face near my wrist, I could mainly smell cloves and carnations.I read so many reviews some said it is so unique that as a unique scent lover i might love it but i sure didn't. The secret for me in the application for that fragrance was that it is DEFINITELY a spray and WALK THROUGH to avoid that “shock and awe” initial effect.

With top notes of carnation and gardenia, middle notes of rose and jasmine and base notes of orris and Mysore sandalwood.The 'tobacco' felt like having been macerated with pepper and some sandalwood that cut off some of that ruggedness, but when mixed with lily . Best paired with a white eyelet nightgown and sleeping with a bar of Ivory soap under your pillow so that you have squeaky-clean dreams.
