About this deal

Dark matter tempests are also uniquely hazardous; Finian remarks that absolutely no reasonable species would attempt to capture energy from one. So of course the Terrans tried it. It goes about as well as Finian would have predicted. Non-Action Guy: Fin has very fragile bones and has to wear a suit that helps him handle regular gravity due to an illness as a child, so he usually stays out of the front-line fighting. He does, however, happen to be a pretty good shot regardless.

She lives in Melbourne, Australia with her husband, their rescue dog, and her considerable library. How Do I Shot Web?: Auri has telekenesis, some precognition and some telepathy as part of her Trigger powers but it takes some time to learn to control them. They are all significantly more powerful when actively controlled.Half-Human Hybrid: In the second book, it is revealed that Tyler's and Scarlett's mother was Waywalker Syldrathi. Glowing Eyes of Doom: Or, rather, eye. Auri's white eye glows whenever her Eshvaren powers are active. So does Caersan's. Psychic Nosebleed: Auri gets them when she uses her abilities as the Eshvaren's Trigger, especially when they take her over. Now, obviously, they haven't made a series named that, but they made the Aurora Cycle. I'd like some people's thoughts on this because my brain started spiralling when I thought too hard about it. Some things to consider (if everything else generally stayed the same): Mark of the Supernatural: Auri's skunk stripe and white eye mark her as being the Eshvaren's Trigger.

The Assimilator: The Ra'haam is capable of infecting members of sapient species to become agents of itself, but only if those individuals stray onto one of the 22 planets it's incubating on. It wants to absorb everything else into its gestalt. In other words, they're biological versions of The Borg. The Aurora Cycle novels are set in a far future when humans have expanded out into space and encountered a range of different alien species. Peace between these species is kept by the Aurora Legion, an intergalactic collation of peacekeepers, made up of teenagers of various species (a slightly more hormonal Starfleet, slightly). The series follows Squad 312, a group of misfits brought together thanks to the arrival of the mysterious Aurora O’Malley. Auri is a girl out of time, who was awoken by the squad after centuries frozen in a colony ship and found herself gifted with dangerous psychic powers. The first book in this series, Aurora Rising, introduced the squad and saw them thrust into the midst of a galactic conspiracy, as a race of plant-based aliens, the Ra’haam, who are plotting to assimilate all life, frame them as terrorists. The second novel, Aurora Burning, expanded on the threats, the conspiracies, and the character drama, and ended with a massive cliffhanger, with all the surviving members of Squad 312 in great danger and the fate of the universe on the brink. One sapient species that is briefly mentioned are called Rikerites, and there is also a planet called Picard VI. Book 1: Princeps, the leader of the GIA agents and components of the Ra'haam gestalt chasing Auri, is what's left of her father.

Power Incontinence: Auri's Trigger powers in the first book, when she doesn't yet have control over them, burst out when she is unconscious or frightened. The squad you love is out of time. Prepare for the thrilling finale in the epic, bestselling Aurora Cycle series about a band of unlikely heroes who just might be the galaxy's last hope for survival. Fin will nerd out about mechanical stuff to Auri, and even though Auri has no clue what he's talking about, she'll still nod along and try to match his enthusiasm Subverted at the end of Aurora's End, where Zila stays behind in the past to ensure the success of the mission. Really Gets Around: Scarlett has had at least fifty different boyfriends, and none of those relationships lasted longer than seven weeks. Until she falls for Fin. In the epilogue, a year after the main events of the trilogy, they are still together.
