The 4K disc just handles the grain better (a cleaner and more nuanced look to the structure) and the fine details are superb.

However, only the theatrical and extended cuts show the most improvement since they were mastered in HDR10 and HDR10+, delivering significantly punchier, cleaner and spot-on whites in nearly every scene, especially coming from the various light fixtures of the mall. Other titles include Sony's terrible Dark Tower adaptation, Well Go USA's uneven Broken Sword Hero, and Universal's .A trio of Region Free, dual-layered UHD66 discs sit comfortably opposite a Region B locked, dual-layered BD50 disc containing all the supplements. Dispensing with the brief character prologue of its predecessor, Dawn kicks off with the world already in crisis – the dead have risen and are attacking the living in a battle that humankind is showing the first signs of losing. Its influence has been huge and is clearly visible on just about every subsequent zombie movie, as well as pretty much the entire Survival Horror genre of computer games. It’s less informative than the others but it’s a lot of fun to listen to them get together and laugh and joke about the shoot and film. Bates is an exceptional composer and Dawn of the Dead is one of his most entertaining and engaging scores.

This was part of the agreement made, as Argento’s company financed much of the film and he felt some tweaks would need to be made for non-American markets. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Ana is naturally the center of attention, and Sarah Polley is above reproach for playing the terrified, but hardened nurse who does what needs to be done, yest still exercises her conscience. I’m not opposed to the idea of remakes, as many GREAT classic films are actually remakes of other sub-par or less desirable sources ( Ben Hur, Twelve Monkeys, The Thing), but I always approach them with a sense of trepidation and suspicions, as they are just as easily a rip-off without additional enjoyment as they are a new classic.

It’s a tour de force track that hasn’t aged at all in the in the near 9 years since it was first released on Blu-ray. Realizing that there’s nothing but death as far as the eye can see, the group make their way to the local mall, where they hideout with a trio of suspicious and power mad security guards who pretty much dominate their every move. Zack Snyder heavily stylized this flick to death, giving it a massively burnished orange and yellow tone, with THICK grain, and some wonky looking blacks. While it's interesting to see the alternative edits, I'll go with the theatrical cut every time, particularly as we're talking the full version rather than the one trimmed by 3 minutes 46 seconds by the BBFC for its UK cinema release (a further 12 seconds were lost from the subsequent video version).

Scribe James Gunn makes an excellent point in a new interview that he tried to make his screenplay more action oriented while lessening the role "mall droids" played in the original film.Out of the Theatrical, Argento and Extended/Cannes versions; the 1981 Intervision pre-cert seems to be a straight transfer of the original US Theatrical version of the movie (which uncut, runs at 2h 05m 25s). After choosing the scenes and takes he wanted, he had those alone developed into 35mm prints for the master reels. Looking to get out of the city while they still can is helicopter pilot Stephen, his girlfriend Fran and his close friend Roger, a SWAT commando who invites newly met comrade Peter to join them.
