The most widely used type of dartboards are the steel tip dartboards (or the bristle dartboards). Steel tip dartboards take steel tip darts. GB 3 is the long-awaited successor of the very successful and widely used GB 2, which, unfortunately, is no longer in production, and can be found mostly used nowadays. The Viper Slash also includes ‘magnedart holsters’ that connect to the side of the board (see above), providing a useful storage space for your darts, when you’re not playing. This board can be used to play online against people from all over the world as well as play against a computer player. The wiring is extra thin — or about 65% thinner compared to the regular round wiring — which means that you will be experiencing a lot fewer bounce-outs while playing on this dartboard. The Blade 4, for example, was one of the best long-lasting dartboards. Even today, there are darts players that have and play on their original Blade 4. Another difference is the kind of darts used. Traditional dartboards are most commonly played with steel tip darts, while electronic boards use soft tip darts.
