About this deal

Before starting, just install the free smartphone screen sharing application “Mirroring OA for KENWOOD” on your Android smartphone and connect it to the KENWOOD receiver via Bluetooth and a USB cable. (Compatible phone required). Apple CarPlay gives iPhone users an intuitive way to make calls, use Maps, listen to music and access messages with just a word or a touch. With iOS 12.0 and higher, 3rd party navigation apps like Google Maps™ are also supported. Wireless connection is available on compatible iPhones. I've just fitted a Kenwood DMX8020DABS and discovered you can modify the boot screen of the unit to give it a slightly more OEM appearance (sadly I don't think you can do much about the rest of the UI which is a bit less polished...). Here's the end result:

Best of all, it will bring your car bang up to date with access to the very latest in smartphone connectivity. Which is the smartest choice to go with your phone? How we tested them DAB+, also known as Digital Audio Broadcasting Plus, provides crystal-clear audio quality and interference-free reception. DAB+ uses the AAC+ audio codec, which allows for greater compression without loss of audio quality and is comparable with CD audio quality. It uses a more efficient coding system to transmit digital data resulting in more stations being able to broadcast on the same frequency and allows for the delivery real time data services such as such as the station name and logo, presenter, song title and album artwork. The key selling point of the Kenwood DMX8020DABS is its Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility. If you haven't used these before, they're brilliant – just connect your phone (via Bluetooth or old-fashioned USB) and you can access all your favourite apps on the move. Or some of them, at least (Spotify, Google Maps and Waze to name a few). When the DNPS function of the center unit is operated, system will restrict title selection or other functions of the iPod for ten seconds. (Will resume in ten seconds.) a>

Multimedia DSP Features

In the box, you'll find the stereo itself, as well as a wiring loom to connect to your car (you'll probably need an adapter as well). There's a microphone (for handsfree calls), a USB extension (for connecting your phone) and a GPS antenna for using Google Maps. Android Auto was designed with safety in mind, helping you to minimize distractions and stay focused on the road. KENWOOD’s multimedia receivers combine an intuitive voice controlled interface with a large touch screen and superior sound quality, making it the perfect complement for your in-car life. You can even listen to and control music from your favorite streaming services like Pandora and Spotify. Navigate to where you need to with Google Maps or Waze. New KENWOOD Wi-Fi receivers also support Android Auto wirelessly (compatible phone required) Glad to hear the screen is better, as that's one of my gripes about the Pioneer unit I have. The UI in the Pioneer isn't fantastic either (better than OEM), so as long as the Kenwood is "as good" then I will be happy, especially if the screen is more responsive. Wireless AA does use a fair chunk of power especially if you're navigating, so don't bin that USB cable just yet Active 3-Way X'over Mode for advanced sound system building by separating the audio signal into different frequency band, via Low Pass Filter, Band Pass Filter & High Pass Filter, and direct them to the appropriate speakers or drivers via power amplifier(s).

data-src="https://cdn.media.amplience.net/i/washford/Halfords Car Audio fitting & installation service" It also has an HDMI input (you could run a games console through the display if you wish), as well Bluetooth connectivity for both streaming music or making phone calls. It also has wireless screen mirroring for Android, which is great for watching videos (when parked up). Should I buy one? We'd go as far as saying Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are must-have features on a new car, but now numerous big-name aftermarket audio firms provide compatible devices of some description. We tested Sony's option a few years ago and, while Kenwood's isn't a like-for-like alternative (technology moves fast and that review's now three years old), it is more advanced. With Bluetooth functionality, the Kenwood DMX8020DABS enables hands-free calling, providing convenience and safety while on the road. It also supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing seamless integration with smartphones and access to various apps and features.You can connect up to 3 camera's to this receiver: a rear camera with parking guideline support, the KENWOOD CMOS-320 (sold separately & controlled via the Camera Link) and a blind view (left/right) camera. The AV-input is assignable as 3rd camera input. Setting of camera type and display switching between 3 cameras can be operated easily via the receiver’s large screen. KENWOOD DMX5020DABS is the latest CarPlay & Android Auto 6.8” model – ideal for getting your apps on the go. However you listen to music or plan your journey this unit will have something to offer;
