About this deal

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. He mentions higher levels of anxiety, gained weight, and countless hours online as the main factors that affected his students.

Thrown into this mix was all the parts of our lives that we desperately didn’t want to lose within the pandemic, such as celebrating birthdays. whilst we now had a first-hand account of what it was like to celebrate a milestone in lockdown it was still difficult for the children to understand. My son loved the way he could relate to Reggie’s experiences and was engrossed in the book from start to finish. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. With his eighth birthday just around the corner, the very thought of having to celebrate his special day during lockdown, sends poor Reggie into a meltdown. Banji Alexander is an exciting new author, bursting onto the scene with his debut book, ‘Lockdown Looms: Reggie’s Birthday Party’.

I think ultimately that is what I want my legacy to be for a child in 10, 20 years to say, ‘Hey, Banji Alexander inspired me to do what I'm doing now.A fictional tale for children aged 7-12, encapsulating the uncertainty and novelty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. This book was like therapy to me because some of the themes in the story are hope, determination, adapting to change, kindness, and these were skills and qualities that I wanted my pupils to gain, but they were also qualities I had to remind myself that I was capable of tuning into during that very difficult time for myself and my family. An International Politics BSc graduate, and a University College London/Institute of Education trained/qualified teacher, his arrival into the world of literature, promises to be one full of adventure, laughter, and linguistic prowess. We like that one of the main messages in the book is kindness, something we have been struggling to teach our two little ones with.

Banji Alexander, a year three teacher in London, saw his students' challenges and decided to help them cope with those intense emotions in a fictional way with his book, “Lockdown Looms: Reggie’s Birthday Party. With the expectation that life in lockdown will be a thing of the past by the time we reached November, however, this was not the case. Lockdown Looms: Reggie’s Birthday Party is the first in the series written by the author (and primary school teacher), Banji Alexander. A story which everyone can relate to, Alexander's mastery of the English language and rich vocabulary, coupled with colourful illustrations on every page, brings the story to life, leaving all readers, regardless of age, captivated and totally absorbed. He wrote his book “Lockdown Looms: Reggie’s Birthday Party” for the thirty students Alexander was in charge of when lockdown was enacted in 2020.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given children a window into a world they had never seen before or been exposed to. When I tweeted about the letter at the time, I extended thanks and gratitude to all the teachers across the country because this was just one thing that I had done personally.
