Cut Spiced Rum is a quality offering that bends rum from Jamaica and Trinidad blended with some extra tasty treats to make this one of the best spiced rums we have tried. Those taste enhancing treats include pepper, ginger, coriander, lemon and cinnamon. The resultant rum is smooth and flavoursome with gorgeous citrus, caramel and vanilla notes. Our panel – made up of 10-accredited spirits experts and rum-loving consumers – put 35 spiced rums to the test, spanning supermarket steals to big-brand bottles. Spiced rum is any kind of rum cut with spices such as clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and vanilla, though pretty much any spice can be used. Spiced rums can also be mixed with natural fruit flavours such as pineapple and banana, as well as sugar, for added sweetness. This unaged rum is pot distilled from sugar cane molasses in Scotland by Dumfries-based Ninefold Distillery.
