About this deal

Very little is known about this movie. Well, that's the case if you haven't seen Across the Spider-Verse yet. We could discuss its ending here, but we don't want to ruin any of the big surprises for you. As mentioned in our introduction, you can read our spoiler-heavy ending explainer to find out how it sets up Beyond the Spider-Verse. Miles Morales will continue to explore the Spider-Man multiverse in the animated sequel. (Image credit: Sony Pictures) Lord added: "The writers and directors [on Spider-Man: No Way Home] are all buddies of ours, so we sort of have been in the loop as far as what's going on [in other movies]. And we are always trying to make sure we're not stepping on each other's toes and telling different types of stories, and different themes, and all that stuff – because people want an original story that feels new and interesting. It's our job to give it to them."

Lord and Miller have also hinted it might tie into theMCU and Sony's wider Spider-Man universe (SSU). Speaking on the Happy Sad Confusedpodcast, Miller said: "The multiverse is big and wide, and all things grow. Why would you think [that in] a multiverse, in which many things are possible, that [those things are] not related?" Miles carries on his double life. He reunites with Gwen. But she's got a problem. Then Miles meets his arch nemesis. Supposedly. The Spot! Even so, an amazing movie experience. Part three could be a while. No eta at the time of writing. All good things to those who wait. As for Spider-Woman, Chris Miller explained she'll be a mentor to Gwen and that her movie look is inspired by a "comic run when she's pregnant during Secret Wars". Spider-Woman isn't the only Spider-Force individual that Spider-Gwen is close to, either. She's also pretty close to Spider-Punk, which makes Miles a little more than jealous of their friendship. A new animated Spider-Man movie. Sequel to 2018's 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse.' This will not make much sense if you've not seen that first film, so go and do it now if you haven't.Creating the Ultimate Spider-Man movie. Fourteen mins on the creation of the movie. Pretty absorbing stuff and it does go into good detail. It's not just a publicity piece. Issa Rae ( Insecure) will play Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, who'll be pregnant in the film. Shea Wigham ( Boardwalk Empire, True Detective) voices Captain Stacy, the father of Steinfeld's Spider-Gwen, in his first-ever voice acting role. Jorma Taccona ( The Lonely Island) plays a multiversal version of The Vulture. The pair also told TechRadar that most fan theories are "way off base". Make of that what you will before we enter potential spoiler territory, which is happening right about... now.

With Across the Spider-Verse continuing to explore the Spider-Man multiverse, The Spot seems like the perfect villain. According to director Kemp Powers, Valve's iconic videogame series Portal was a key influence on The Spot's aesthetic (via IndieWire). The disc begins with a short anti piracy ad. Which can be skipped via the next button on the dvd remote. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" swings into cinematic brilliance, offering a dazzling and innovative experience that transcends the boundaries of animation. The film seamlessly continues the groundbreaking narrative introduced by its predecessor (Which I enjoyed more), delivering a web-slinging, visually stunning and emotionally resonant adventure. That is the only issue anyone could have with this movie. The slowing down and leaving it hanging that is, not that more is to come. Because otherwise it really an amazing film. It's a PG certificate so a bit too much perhaps for the very young to take in. I will say though it doesn't have anything, even with all that the animation does, that should bother epileptics or anyone who can't handle flashing lights. I am in the latter group and was fine with it. So that was nice. The Spot is the primary villain for the next two animated Spider-Man movies. (Image credit: Sony Pictures) Spider-Man 2099 is one of the new main cast members in Across the Spider-Verse. (Image credit: Sony Pictures) It is loaded with continuity references. But this won't put non comic readers off. It is also firmly character driven and full of genuine emotion. It manages to balance it out perfectly with the humour.

Raising a Hero: nine minutes on some of the characters and their dynamics. Also interesting to hear what is said. Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, Justin K. Thompson’s intriguing animation film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, made its anticipated debut on the big screen on June 2nd, 2023. You have never seen animation like this before. This does take a few mins to settle down. But after the first set piece battle, you will be well into this. There is one sequence that those who are sensitive to flashing lights will have to close their eyes for. But just one.Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is rated PG. Parental guidance is suggested, meaning some material may not be suitable for children. Parents are urged to give "parental guidance." The movie may contain some material parents might not like for their young children. 9.1 After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most." One of the film's standout features is its introduction of new Spider-People from different dimensions, each with unique abilities and quirks. This expands the Spider-Verse and allows for delightful interactions and unexpected alliances. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, adding depth to the story and making it a joy for longtime fans like myself and newcomers to the Spider-Man mythos. From the moment the film began, I was captivated by the vibrant and dynamic animation style that sets the Spider-Verse apart. The kaleidoscope of colours and the fluidity of movement create a visual feast that is nothing short of breathtaking. The animation is not just a technical marvel. Still, it serves as a storytelling tool, enhancing the narrative and bringing the characters to life in a fresh and exhilarating way. The Spot is a villain taken from Spider-Man comics. He's not the biggest threat there compared to some. And has been regarded as lame. But then things get threatening here. And in addition to his increasing problems of balancing things, Miles now has to contend with a threat to the Multiverse.....

The film's strength lies not only in its visual prowess but also in its heartfelt and well-crafted story. Miles Morales, the charismatic Spider-Man at the heart of the movie, continues to evolve as a character, grappling with the responsibilities of being a superhero and the challenges of navigating the multiverse. The screenplay deftly weaves together humour, heart, and high-stakes action, ensuring that the audience remains engaged from start to finish. But then it does suddenly slow down pace wise in the final act. I can say this without spoilers: that's because it's there for a cliffhanger, and there is a third movie to come. Initially, we thought Spider-Man 2099 would be Miles' new mentor. However, with Peter B. Parker confirmed to return, plus Spider-Man 2099 grappling with Miles in every trailer, it seems they'll end up clashing. The story synopsis also makes out that a Spidey civil war is on the way, so maybe Miles and Spider-Man 2099 become the figureheads of each faction, with Gwen caught in the middle. Speaking to EW, Miller teased: "He [Spider-Man 2009] is not the villain of the movie, but he's sort of an antagonist to Miles because they both think that what they're doing is the right thing." Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's sequel, titled Beyond the Spider-Verse, is expected to land in cinemas on March 29, 2024. Its release date was revealed alongside Across the Spider-Verse's revised launch date, although Beyond the Spider-Verse's arrival could change if it needs additional development time (or the ongoing writers' strike impacts it).
