About this deal

My library mainly consists of Japanese music, so if you’re a fan of them like me, then we might have the same taste. I also listen to various genre like hiphop, rap, orchestra etc. but not that often compared to the Japanese ones. Most of the entry level Bluetooth headphones I have reviewed so far featured a consumer friendly "V" shaped tuning with the only exception being the Sennheiser HD250BT. I have heard of Soundmagic during my early days about their bullet styled IEM. Then I kinda stopped hearing from them until recently Caliya from Soundmagic approached me asking if I am interested to review some of their products. Sub bass rumble can definitely be felt, also the mid bass thump is pretty much very present but not to the point where it’s distracting They blend quite well with the instruments in a very satisfying and cohesive way and the same goes for the higher pitched members of the orchestra that sound sparkling and agile.

We'll reserve our judgment until we hear them for ourselves, but based on their specs this looks like a solid set of affordable headphones, and that battery life is seriously impressive, particularly given the asking price.

Price comparison

The P23BT is not the most refined listen but it is not supposed to be and although there is some grain to the sound it is not too much as to spoil the otherwise excellent performance.

All the above impressions apply to listening with the cable but the good part is that switching to Bluetooth with the aptX HD enabled is equally competitive. Up to 60 Hrs & Wired Mode:400mAh large capacity lithium battery, low power circuit design, only 1h charge can provide about 60h of wireless music experience. The P23BT headphone can be used as a wired game headset by replacing with the supplied microphone cable. The game experience is as good as the professional game headset. I haven’t experienced any particular issue with the connection walking through London and using them on transport, although I haven’t used the headphones for any calls. I’ll be updating the review as and when I get the chance to do so. Sound QualityThe battery life is the star of the show here; they’ll last you as long as you need them to. The audio is also more than adequate but tuned more towards the lows, some might find them a little aggressive. The included carry case is nice, and the fact that they fold up is even nicer. Nonetheless, in terms of features and the value the Air Pro 3 offer, they’re an impressive pair of budget ANC wireless earbuds. There are similarly priced/cheaper options in the Urbanears Juno and Ugreen HiTune T3 but we feel the EarFun offer better noise-cancellation and better sound than either pair. The soundstage is also reasonably wide so you certainly don't have to crank up the volume here to get the most from it. We felt suitably cocooned while listening to the likes of David Bowie's Under Pressure and Soft Cell's Tainted Love continues to sound wide reaching and engaging. The SoundMagic P23BT aren’t going to rival more expensive headphones but they still sound quite good. The bass isn't overwhelming when listening to the likes of Billie Eilish's Bad Guy and while it could also offer a bit more punch, we're mostly grateful it doesn't overwhelm like other cheap headphones. Instead, you can still hear some decent lows and enjoy some reasonably crisp mids.
