About this deal

We went 5-STAR CRAZY for this book, and now we can get it with this new cover, a ten years after epilogue and all sorts of cool extras! I lost my virginity in the spare bedroom to Danny Nussbaum while Mum and Dad were downstairs watching TV.

I found her relationship with her parents really sad,, but unfortunately it does happen, parents do sometimes compare their child to a cousin and find that child wanting. Spoiler alert: I thought the crisis/reconciliation she had with her family could have described more personal growth on her. And in fact, Emma realizes her secrets — and them being revealed — weren’t a weakness or a source of humiliation, but a superpower. Hardingham turns in a charming performance in this light confection, capturing the winsome humor of Kinsella’s novel.

Normally there’s a kind of filter that stops me from blurting out everything I’m thinking, but the filter’s stopped working. The author also presents them without lecturing and really gets it right with hilarious blow ups and serious letdowns alike. The story starts with a bad business trip ending in what must be the worst way possible – a near death experience whilst in bad turbulence on a plane. I thought that the authors wrote Lindsey and Rachel’s friendship extremely well – female friendships, particularly teenage female friendships are incredibly difficult and can be particularly fraught.

Just between us superannuated schoolgirls, she hasn't the faintest idea what NATO is, and she has never, ever told her boyfriend Connor that she actually weighs 128 pounds, not 118. Staying true to Kinsella’s normal heroines, Emma is really clumsy and seems to have a streak of bad luck – she is constantly making a fool of herself in front of other people. Commencing a blurb with a question implies that somewhere along the line the book will provide an answer.

Well, it just so happens that the following Monday, upon getting to work, Emma sees Jack at her job. Sammy the goldfish at home isn’t the same goldfish that Mum and Dad gave me to look after when they went to Egypt. After hearing all of Emma’s secrets, it’s obvious that he never forgot any of it and there’s always an underlining message in his speech.

The plot is so damn perfect, a cute, cheeky office rom-com and I guarantee you won't be able to keep a straight face on while reading this. Jack, on the other hand, is more than right for her and more than willing to make her life better and more enjoyable. It makes sense in the book when Panther is positioned as a type of sports company on the level of Puma and Nike. In the book, Emma's meeting is located in Scotland, and is with an oil company, whereas in the movie her meeting is with a cruise company for older folks located in Chicago.

Secrets from her mother: I lost my virginity in the spare bedroom with Danny Nussbaum while Mum and Dad were downstairs watching Ben-Hur. For me, this is by far the best work she has written and I would definitely recommend this as the perfect holiday read. It's a sweet subplot in the book, but is also the most easily excised to ensure the movie doesn't run too long. In the stead of that, he takes up a somewhat frivolous tone and attitude towards Emma and has a fine segue into humorous, though romantic banter. S.) in a British-originated series, this uneven anthology of stories by chick lit's bright lights showcases some engaging voices.
