We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Players need to observe the landscape of their opponents, and accordingly decide how much money they want to place on each tile.
Perhaps most importantly, the hardest part of the game – pricing the auction – has everyone in “crunch” mode simultaneously, so that no one is wasting time watching another player’s internal gears turn. If you like something a bit heavier, meatier, with direct conflict or less luck dependent then Isle of Skye is probably not for you. Having the game shuffle player odder, or provide preference to other players helps but it is best when players can catch up through their own choices. The lack of available expansions which really add to the base game is also a shame but hopefully something that can be rectified in the future. But really, you have six tiles you know at the start of the game you can use, so with repeated plays, some longer strategy with these tiles can really emerge.
I’m Scottish (you may have noticed) and this misty eyed romanticism of my homeland is not new to me. The terrain on adjacent tiles must match up to create continuous areas of grassland, mountain, or lake.So each round you look around and try to work out (a) how much that tile is worth to you and (b) how much it is worth to someone else. In the end, the player with the best kingdom, not the richest player, becomes the sovereign of the island. They say it's a great game with plenty of playability, and the randomly chosen tiles add to the replay value. They say that the design is beautiful, the material used makes a good impression, and the game is imaginative and different every time.
