About this deal

The ducting takes the internal air from inside the vehicle from the footwell step area so it is warming the already warmer internal air and then ducts it back through another ducting to provide the warm air. This means the physical size of the heater is the same size as a 5KW heater with 75mm ducting so is not great for anybody wanting to fit in under a van in the factory position on T5/T6 transporters or anybody that is tight on space. I work away and stay in the van monday to friday and in that cold spell recently the heater was on a low temp setting and it was a cosy 24 degrees C in the morning when it was -5'C on the dash. The 5KW are a lot cheaper and easier to make than the 2KW so this why the majority of heaters that will show up when you type 2KW Chinese diesel heaters will be 5KW .

For initial bench testing I placed the heater on my Black and Decker workmate with the air inlet and exhaust facing down between the two open jaws.Yes, when mounting these to a vehicle with anything other than bare flat metal, a turret plate not only makes it easier, it is also much safer.

That and the fact that it's got a 15A fuse has got me wondering if this is going to flatten my leisure battery if I use it for any length of time when I have no mains hookup (which is the main situation when I'll need it. Can feed hot air duct up into van in corner by seatbelt - I’m banking on this as there is no room with leis battery under seat. I have an internal voltage readout for the leisure battery, so I'll keep a close eye on it when I first use it, but it sounds like it's not a non-starter at least. I looked around for ages at these, reading the reviews, watching You Tube etc and finally bit the bullet. Since our last tried and tested diesel heater post a lot has changed so we thought it was time to revamp it, and as is always a good idea to do things better the 2nd time round we have decided to make it a lot better so here is our brand new.

But also pay attention to the switch actually has two layers of protective film, you just need to slightly tear off the upper layer of film, the film below can not be torn off, otherwise there will be dust into the switch, resulting in switch damage.

One thing I would always recommend around any fuel burning appliances is a carbon monoxide alarm just to be on the safe side. Autoterm diesel heaters come with a 3-year warranty and are superb for a small-medium wheelbase van where you need a boost of heat on those colder nights. The oil pump vibration is low, effectively reducing the noise and letting you enjoy a quiet and warm space. My Chinese 2KW one heats the van nicely, gets it up to comfortable from an outside temperature of around zero in 10 to 15 minutes. You can install this parking heater 12V diesel anywhere in your vehicle and easily operate it via remote control or the LCD panel. All AUTOTERM Air series heaters are equipped with brushless induction motors that ensure low noise levels as well as a long lifetime for the device and the capability to operate in extreme environments and temperatures as low as -45°C/-49°F. This is a great product for those who need to additionally heat small truck cabins, commercial vehicle cabins and cargo compartments, small campers, off-highway vehicles or boats of up to 33 ft/10 m. The 2KW AUTOTERM 2D is the most compact heater model in the production line, it is intended for use in Campervans, motorhomes, crew cabins and work spaces, commercial vans and trucks, as well as boats that are up to 28 feet long.

This could be put though a little panel on the back of the seat base to hide the heater away (please note this panel is not included in the kit but then vent to do so is included). Like I say Im really chuffed with it so far, for the money its spot on but time will tell if there are any issues.Or you can upgrade to the comfort controller, allowing for a better display and timer functionality. Our concern is for users that may not be experienced with the installation and maintenance of this product type. All well and good until they realised just how difficult it was to source decent conversion parts quickly and easily. The real Autoterm Planar heaters are built in Russia by engineers who make them for the military and who have space technology experience. If you want to fit your diesel heater outside your van then you can purchase the external fitting kit here.
