About this deal

So please advise me on my placement of my 2-way KEF standspeakers: being 5ft 10.5 ft between centre to centre of both speaker boxes, 10ft 2inch from from centre of each loudspeaker box to my ears. Both loudspeaker boxes are toed-in direcly toward my ears. Either in store or from the comfort of your own home. We appreciate life is busy, so why not let us make it a little easier for you. While it's not the cheapest record player on the shelf, the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon is still an incredible value. We can’t recommend this turntable enough. Any hi-fi kit that’s going to get the best of SBTRKT has to be fairly methodical in its handling of flittering tinny beats, slicing percussion and frenetic rhythms, and while the Rega has the necessary precision and rhythmic know-how to coordinate them accurately in the soundstage, its delivery isn’t without enthusiasm. Heinz’s belief in the importance of the turntable came to prominence duringa time when vinyl was at death’s door - with the CD revolutionising the wider audio market. However, Heinz stood firm and argued the case for not only analogue replay - but also for the pride and sense of ownership and interaction you simply do not get with digital media. So with this belief, he produced his first turntable - the Pro-Ject 1.

The ability to tie all the musical strands together and paint them on a precise and spacious canvas seems to come easy to the Rega, and in that aspect its delivery just works. The Debut Carbon EVO focuses on the core aspects that make a turntable sound great. Technically correct design - expert craftsmanship - handmade in the EU. This turntable is built to last you a lifetime! The Carbon Evo is superbly made, isolated from the outside world in a way that most affordable turntables simply aren’t and it’s a breeze to setup. I do admit to being a slight turntable hoarder. They fascinate me and I have never been able to get myself to part with one, so, they accumulate. A floating sound, big soundstage, extreme attention to delivering a deep emotional connection with the music.

The Speaker Box 5 S2 is an unreasonably good speaker. There’s a fundamental ‘rightness’ to the way it makes music While my son did the actual setup work, as I am trying to show him some of the finer details of the audiophile hobby, I was standing next to him and carefully observing the process. It was straightforward, with easy-to-follow instructions. The height-adjustable feet turned smoothly, making it easy to get the table leveled. The included Connect It E RCA phono cable was a definite step up from the utility-grade cables that we see in so many other components. The only complication, and it was significant, was the attachment of the anti-skate weight, as I mentioned above. The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo is an unsuspended, belt driven turntable and latest scion of the Debut line. This, should you happen to have spent the 21 st century in a cave, is one of the pillars on which the vinyl revival is based. We can state with the sort of hindsight fueled assurance that we all fall into if we’re not careful, that it was inevitable that a device like the original Pro-Ject Debut would have been released by somebody. I will go on record as saying I’m not as sure. The success of the original Debut looks inevitable from 2020 but it really wasn’t at the time.

It has a kind of seductive, organic richness and woodiness, that we never were aware it was hidden inside the Ortofon 2M Red moving magnet – not until now. it sounds great, as its clean aesthetics carry over to a very clean and balanced midrange with just a touch of sonic warmth. The excellent-sounding midrange is accompanied with by slightly weighty bass and polite treble, making for many hours of listening enjoyment.” – Brian Kahn, Future Audiophile Pro-Ject uses its established steel platter, but upgrade it with an anti-resonant thermoplastic elastomer. The weight of the steel provides stability but a steel platter itself is subject to unwanted resonances, which are now reduced with the new lining.Call it reviewer’s intuition but I feel fingers hovering over the keyboard on this one. Before you solemnly inform me that mains is mains, hear me out. Time for Evolution. Pro-Ject have taken Pro-Ject's most popular turntable design and improved every aspect of it. The result is an incredible refined product. Refined in every aspect A few months ago, a friend asked me to recommend a record player. This friend knows and loves music as much as I do; when he visits, we spend our time drinking wine and listening to records. Last time, it was Scott Walker, Fela, Joni Mitchell, Jacques Brel, Burzum, and both glorious sides of The Chronic. Despite that nod to convenience, we think you’ll want to interact with this record player as much as possible. Having followed Pro-Ject’s Debut line for many years, we find there’s a real sense of it reaching adulthood with the new Debut Carbon Evo. The main platter upon which the record is played should be heavy and non-resonant. The Debut Carbon EVO approaches this problem by using our proven 12” steel platter, now lined around the outer edge (bottom side) with an anti-resonant thermo-plastic elastomer (TPE). The result is a heavier platter with minimal noise over an expertly engineered main bearing and sub-platter. The added rotational mass enhances the flywheel effect, yielding reduced wow & flutter and higher stability while damping resonance. A Stable Stance

The Carbon EVO had a good range, a sense of transparency and speed while at the same time being soft and relaxed, with a slightly dark character, which rules out any possibility of roughness. You disagree, right? Got to gut to dig Gordon Holt out & challenge him face to face ???? I wouldn't mind acting as your witness. That's why I only spent dirt cheap money for streaming: for convenience rather than sound quality !!!

The Debut Carbon EVO features Pro-Ject's new designed motor suspension. Pro-Ject have improved the old design to consistently reduce the vibrations better than before. This is a display of strength: with its construction quality and sonic characteristics, it‘s the new reference in this price category. With specs like these, it is highly recommended! The Carbon EVO is the result decades of development of the Debut turntable line, with the company incorporating changes that improve both performance (anti-resonant platter lining) and user experience (speed switch). The design provides good performance and is compatible with many of the Debut family components, making upgrades easy without needing to replace your entire turntable. Getting ready to spin some vinyl on the Pro-Ject Carbon Evo turntable.
