About this deal

Your not listening to one word more knowledgeable YouView users are saying to you, who are trying to help and explain, so I'll take your tack. The skip period on the T3-R is selectable, but doesn't have the flexibility of the Toppy, which could assign various values to the coloured buttons. Well, haven’t come across the Huawei YouView boxes, and Humax have withdrawn the 1TB version of the HDR 2000T, so they do appear to be abandoning YouView for Freeview Play. I'm sorry for the contradiction, but the Humax HDR 2000T isn't a YouView model its a Humax retail box, plus YouView actually have eight models currently in circulation.

The EPG is nicely laid out, which makes it a doddle to find and watch TV shows from the past seven days. While the box has 1TB of storage and the quality of the Ultra HD content is superb, a single sports channel won’t be enough to persuade everyone to upgrade. Established in 2005, Chigwell Satellite is the UK's leading independent Sky HD, Humax and BT TV retailer, professional satellite installations and are proud suppliers and installers of Starlink technology. I constantly hit the outer ring of buttons when meaning to use the inner ring thus taking me out of whatever I was intending to do. I’m NOT SAYING BT are going to drop YouView, but by the looks of it, it’s on it’s way out as the standard UI for free to air TV.It also has a completely redesigned interface for BT TV, which is BT’s streaming offering and rival to Netflix. Happily, the IPTV stream is outside of your internet service, so watching a broadcast won't affect simultaneous streaming or web browsing elsewhere in the home on a computer. I have said all this already and also 'No' the NowTV recording functionality is coming to the T2100 and T4000 (probably before the new box is even released). Sky is already broadcasting Premier League matches and F1 races in 4K (via its Sky Q box), and BT has its BT Sport UHD channel which shows UEFA Champions League, Premier League, UEFA Europa League and the FA Cup, along with various motorsports as well.

The what hifi review was redone because of the newer interface not because the box changed but this is What hifi we are talking about and they are not exactly 100% about the tech (good sound comments but can be a bit lacking in tech details).

They mention that it is a good piece of kit, easy to set up and understand, and has a clear, crisp picture.

Dive into the BT app via YouView and there are a few bits of Ultra HD content that you can watch, but it’s essentially demo footage, such as a video of some snowboarders, rather than movies and TV shows.

Finally, and we haven’t yet been able to get this confirmed, but we believe the new TV kit is likely to be supplied via Sagemcom. It’s this blurring of traditional and internet content that continues to make YouView a real winner in my eyes. As with Sky, there are no dedicated 4K entertainment channels, with over-the-air ultra HD content confined to BT Sports broadcasts. It was only 10 or 15 years ago the luddites were arguing that analogue tv with a strong signal was better than digital tv. In a nice addition, there's also a Watch List option – letting you keep track of things you'd like to give a look at some point, without committing to recording them.

Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more. Decided not to use the WiFi option for the box as despite booster boxes in my home , WiFi is patchy at times.

Official 12V 2A Power supply for use with for use with BT Youview+ DTR-T2100/DTR-T2110 and BT Youview Ultra HD DTR-T4000. I think the only difference in the two boxes is the one you're interested in has the UHD tuner and a larger HDD. Undoubtedly though it's the BT Sport Ultra HD channel that we're principally interested in, and without a doubt 4K UHD is the jewel in the BT YouView crown. and capable of outputting 2160/50p images with 10-bit colour and PCM stereo or Dolby Digital+ surround sound. Talking of the router, if you’re not using the Home Hub 5 then there’s a chance that you might run into some problems getting the internet channels.
