About this deal

Even MID mode is enough to light up 5-7 meters with good detail in the open air. And the high with its 250 lumens gives enough light to shine through the surrounding bushes.

No one ever plans for bad weather. And even if you do, nature has a way of getting us off-guard. Things like rain, dust, and wind are not always anticipated. But when you are out there in the wild, you better be prepared than be sorry. That’s why you need an all-weather flashlight like the E12. This light is built with a corrosion-resistant body. It has a waterproof rating of IPX-8, which means you can use it up to 2 meters underwater and for 30 minutes. Also, if dropped on the surface, it can survive impacts up to one meter. Another thing is that it has an indestructible Cree XM-ED LED with a lifespan of 50,000 hours. This will last long for more than 5 years. What I like is the compact size for a 2xAA light, that the beam is nice - cool but without any green that I can see.The original Fenix E12 has possibly the weakest feature-set of any flashlight I’ve reviewed here to date. Today we look at the updated Fenix E12 V2.0. The form-factor has undergone a major overhaul, but has the rest of the light been brought up to speed? Fenix E12 V2.0 Weight: Even though it’s smaller than the old E12, it’s heavier by 0.3 ounces. Not a huge deal – under 2 ounces is still infinitely carry-able. Here you can see the bezel, which has a rose color. Sorry to say that I’m unsure if this bezel is press-fit or screwed in – I can’t make it budge. I am normally not a fan at all of the two-way clips but this one is very slim, and overall quite nice. This is a well-built little light. I have always liked these optics that Fenix uses in small lights, and this is no exception. I would prefer a warmer emitter and strongly prefer for the Fenix E12 V2.0 AA EDC flashlight to accept 14500 cells. Overall, for the price, this is a nice little light. Long Review The Big Table Fenix E12 V2.0 AA EDC Flashlight

Light is fully stabilized! And it’s okay in Mid, you may expect it.But even in HIGH as well! In the latter case, this will require cooling, which is surprising in itself. I don’t remember any 2xAA model with thermal regulation. So in the presence of some kind of breeze or use in cold weather, you can expect an hour and a half or two (depending on the battery capacity) of a light that is quite practical in terms of brightness. The runtime test was done with the 50cm integrating sphere, including the Kenko Pro1D ND-16 filter and Extech SDL400 data logging Lux Meter. It has a white beam, with little tint shift and few artifacts. The beam is shown here alongside a triple XPL HI, 4000k, at as close to the same level as I could get to. The only way to do a good clip is to screw it onto the body, or have it sit in-between the battery tube and tailcap with a metal ring. Clip-on clips don’t work. And two-way clips don’t work.

We began working with Fenix in February 2007 by selling their very early products and are proud to have worked with them ever since, with our company ethos proudly putting premium product quality and outstanding service at the core of our identity. If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion. Fenix E12 v2.0 (2020) is really small and lightweight (also depending on what battery you use) and can easily disappear in your hand... Unscrew the tail cap half a turn or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
