About this deal

I found that on the fourth vinyl, side b with the whole "Soundhouse Tapes" session, the transfer sounding distorted - especially on the right channel. Over the years, we have had multiple best of collections from the English heavy metal legends, Iron Maiden. If your going to turn it up to 11 get some ear phones, it wasn't sociable listened to loud music back then and nothings changed.

As for the scumbag, if you know who you are, and if I ever catch you, you will wish you had never chosen your path in life. Each song sounds very natural, there's hardly any compression, clipping and really sounds wonderful blaring out of the stereo or headphones. The band have released 41 albums, including 17 studio albums, 13 live albums, four EPs and seven compilations. I'm probably talking a load of rubbish but they didn't sound dissimilar to a superb band by the name of Rainbow. This is where Best of the Beast differentiates itself from more recent releases, still holding it's crown to this very day.

If anyone else fancies a taster CD of the Iron, this one is for you, oooo and try also Live after Death ! Best of the Beast lacks tracks like Killers, Prowler and a other classics from the first two albums. It is generally accepted that most printed-tee-wearing non-metalhead subordinate people are best served by a greatest-hits album since it can sustain their very limited attention, therefore by targeting audiences new and old with a collection works varying according to different tastes, sales are maximised, and with all editions of "Best of the Beast" weighted towards the iconic Bruce Dickinson hard-rocking era - symphonic live renditions and highlights from Blaze Blayley and Paul Di'Anno's respective periods at the helm notwithstanding - as well as some tasteful remastering and cogent sequencing applied throughout, the compilers have succeeded where many have failed, covering all the bases and pretty much pleasing everyone in the process, including Iron Maiden's own very finicky fanbase! Excellent album, I recommend to everyone, even for non-fan, it is an excellent disc to meet the band, here are the best songs of Iron Maiden until 1995 and the album booklet provides complete descriptions of all the band's albums and tours and etc. Indeed, this series of 10 CDs was infinitely more valuable than a greatest-hits compilation, especially for hardcore fans and collectors, but the demand for a single-disc career overview remained.

It starts off with the wonderful Virus and continues to go back in time from X-Factor all the way back to the Soundhouse Tapes. Despite my gripes, I still think that Best of the Beast is the best Iron Maiden compilation album and I really can't see my opinion changing very soon. There was Edward The Great with it's awkward inconsistent track list or the obvious cash grab Somewhere Back In Time. The song takes up so much room that could have been given to Flight of Icarus or more tracks from the first two albums. While fluid in the early years of the band, the lineup for most of the band's history has consisted of Harris, lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson, drummer Nicko McBrain, and guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers.
