About this deal

But nobody is allowed to talk about the loneliness – nobody wants to hear that someone they know is lonely, because it makes them uncomfortable. So we have to plaster on smiles and pretend we’re fine, for fear we’ll push people even further away.” Highly recommended if you like psychological thrillers or want to read something that is very well written. Pros: well-written, pace was fantastic!!!!, intricate plot, solid mystery that presented a lot of different suspects and kept you guessing most of the way through

This was a fast paced thrill ride- you step right into the action from the very beginning and it never lets up on the suspicions, threats, lies and mystery. Definitely recommend this thriller to everyone who loves short chapters, untrustworthy characters, secrets and constant twists and turns. Two children get on the train. Only one gets off…’Probably the most suspenseful book I will read all year.’ Liz NugentNo one saw it happen. You stand on a crowded tube platform in London. Your two little girls jump on the train ahead of you. As you try to join them, the doors slide shut and the train moves away, leaving you behind.Everyone is lying.By the time you get to the next stop, you’ve convinced yourself that everything will be fine. But you soon start to panic, because there aren’t two children waiting for you on the platform. There’s only one.Someone is to blame.Has your other daughter got lost? Been taken by a passing stranger? Or perhaps the culprit is closer to home than you think? No one is telling the truth, and the longer the search continues, the harder she will be to find… No One Saw a Thing by Andrea Mara – eBook Details Everyone is lying.By the time you get to the next stop, you've convinced yourself that everything will be fine. But you soon start to panic, because there aren't two children waiting for you on the platform. There's only one.No One Saw a Thing is a very fast-paced and layered thriller. Crossing timelines, Andrea Mara creates a complex web of deception and lies, with red herrings aplenty, baiting the reader and successfully leaving you flummoxed on more than one occasion. There is an intensity to this tale, a fear-inducing panic that refuses to die down as the tension ramps up and more secrets are revealed. Immediately, within the first few lines I was thrown into the deep end and the anxiety didn't give way until the very end. Andrea, has so cleverly managed the tension in a way so that it went from a slow simmer which crept it's way into my chest, to that bubbling, bursting sensation where I realised I'd been holding my breath and it was time to breathe. The Irvines, who are quite well off await a ransom demand that never comes and Marissa’s anguish is palpable. Jenny is feeling guilty as it is her nanny who is to blame and the local gossip mongers are vicious in their assessment that Jenny didn’t do her due diligence in choosing this nanny even though she did. Jenny does what she can to help the Irvines to assuage her feelings of guilt but there is no progress.

Me han gustado mucho la construcción de los personajes, tanto de los principales como de los secundarios. Marissa y Peter son la pareja triunfadora. La desaparición de su hijo marca para ellos un antes y un después. It might be a bit of a cliché but NOSAT is the epitome of a whiplash-inducing rollercoaster read. There are so many questionable moments, as many red herrings as in the English Market & in true Mara style, those infuriating parts where you think you’ve it all figured out & then she rips the rug right out from under your smug feet! Has your other daughter got lost? Been taken by a passing stranger? Or perhaps the culprit is closer to home than you think? No one is telling the truth, and the longer the search continues, the harder she will be to find...No One Saw a Thing begins with a nightmare scenario for any parent. The doors of a train on London’s Underground close before a mother can get on to join her two small children who are already on board. Andrea Mara’s inspiration for this latest novel came from an incident during her own childhood when she and her younger sister became separated from her parents on a family visit to London. It really is the most frightening situation for both parent and child.
