About this deal

The sound leakage performance of the Sony WI XB400 is excellent. If you are listening to a moderate volume, it never leaks any sound at all. The overall aesthetics and build are almost identical to Beats Flex. Both have a flat cable to prevent tangling, use 2 modules on each side, and magnets to connect both earbuds. The flap over the charging port isn’t practical. I’ve seen many torn flaps and this one is going to tear eventually. Sony WI-XB400 apparently only come with 3 sets of ear tips, small, medium, and large. Interestingly, no matter which ear tip size you use, they all provide an equally tight seal. Though you won’t hear a ton of depth, you will get a good height and instrument placement feeling. Sound Leakage Sony WI-XB400 come with a pretty standard set of features for the price, with a highlight being multipoint support for connecting multiple devices.

The Sony WI – C310 would be an excellent option for mixed-use in-ear headphones. The headphones are incredibly lightweight and offer a very high degree of flexibility. The headphones would be an excellent choice for running and exercising as well as we found during our use of the headphones. Even from the comfortability point of view, we found them quite interesting and efficient. They do not cause any pressure in your ear – even for prolonged listening periods. The headphones have three bud sizes so that you can opt for the one that meets your needs. Do you know how to pair Sony WI-XB400 with other devices? If you don’t, then let’s know it. How To Pair With Other Bluetooth Devices? Before we dive deep into the Sony WI-XB400 review, let’s first take a look at what’s comes in the box.Audio is perfectly in sync when watching videos on YouTube, no matter what operating system you use. The bass isn’t neutral, but it’s also far from bassy. Compared to more natural-sounding Sony WF-1000XM4, they only have a few dB louder bass response. We also tested some Indian pops and desi music on the Sony XB400. We played the Coke Studio rendition of ‘Chaudhary’ song. The Sony earphones don’t do injustice to this beautiful folk song. One can clearly make out Instruments like Sarangi, Dholak, Tabla, Drums Flute. While all these instruments are there, you won’t fail to notice soothing lyrics of the song sung in Mame Khan’s mesmerizing voice. On the other hand, speaking in loud environments further distorts your voice. It’s barely understandable.

I hope all of your confusion has gone away, and now you can make the right decision about whether to buy or skip it. Right now, I am going to describe one of the essential parts of a headphone. That is its sound profile. The Sony WI-C310 does not seem durable enough. They are made of thin plastic and appear too fragile. The cables are rubberized and offer a flat surface, but are again, quite weak. The design is ergonomic and lets you use them stably enough during a workout or light run activities. The feature-set is reasonably good for the price, with multipoint support and reliable physical controls.

For this price range, the microphone is good, but not extraordinary. So never expect an excellent call quality from this headset. Recording Quality Sony WI-XB400 and Beats Flex are both similar performing headphones. The Beats is more comfortable, stable, and has a better build quality. It also isolates more noise. Overall for everyday home listening to outdoor listening, this XB400 headset will be your ideal choice. Who Might Skip It? You might have heard about these headphones, but don’t know much about their function and features. The headphones may not be the right ones for mixed usage. Of course, if you do not care much about diverse usage characteristics, they come with a decent enough performance suitable for massive bass performance. We were able to enjoy music across rooms without any interference or sound drop. As for Audio Codec support, Sony XB400 only support SBC and AAC but are missing AptX or AptX HD support. In the end, the headphones come with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. There are no other options, such as WiFi or NFC. Pros The C400 has NFC pairing and a Bluetooth sync button. But the WI-XB400 has Bluetooth 5.0 and has a noticeably better wireless range. 3. Sony WI-XB400 Vs WI-C310

If you are looking at the sound performance, the XB400 is an excellent option for high-end bass performance. But, that would not mean the bass is overwhelming. We found the overall sound performance good enough. The frequency response was found to be consistent enough. The soundstage is not good enough. However, the in-ear headphones cannot expect high-end soundstage. Sony WI-XB400 provide decent Bluetooth capabilities with a stable Bluetooth connection and range, multipoint support, and no video lag. The other nice feature is that Sony has employed a USB-C connection for charging. USB-C is slowly phasing out Micro-USB connections, as they’re sturdier and easier to plug in. And according to my colleagues, they’ve proven to charge faster as well. The XB400 offers a great battery life. During our review, we were able to use them for hours before it started bothering us with low power alerts. Fast charging is supported and you can get 1 hour worth of mileage with just 10 minutes of charging. Another positive here is the USB-C charging port which ensured that it didn’t have to carry a separate cable, but unless you have the same port on your phone this is a moot point. Given there’s no adapter in the box, it takes about three hours to fully refill its battery via a USB port Sony XB400 Review verdictWhen the charging is complete, disconnect the USB C cable and close the USB C port cover to prevent water or dust from entering the headset.
